I’ve been thinking about how the one thing that hasn’t changed in music for most of humanity’s time, is their voices, and I fully believe they’ll always be the fundamental layer of connection between music and the human brain.
I guess it’s true music started out by giving rhythm and pattern to sounds most of which we produced through our advanced vocal capabilities, I don’t know how exactly it went down evolutionarily, the ability to comprehend music urging us to develop such vocal capabilities or the other way around. But I’d like to think human voices in music with their raw and dynamic unique timbres trigger innate empathy not easily possible to trigger with other musical instruments.
Since you music theory folks have such vast opinions on timbres and understand the creation of sound as we perceive it (harmonic series and all that), do you think my position on human voices hold truth?
Edit: after reading some of the replies I realized maybe I’ve been listening to too much gospel/soulful vocal songs, but I’ve been really trying to create a chart about the difference in empathy inducing between Instruments, I remember hearing smth about the saxophone being very empathy inducing and emotional to perceive because it’s timbre resembles a human voice a lot more than other instruments, so I thought the human voice must be the highest on the chart.
I’ve been looking for a sonic sibling for this song since forever and every time I hit a wall, obviously **I’d recommend listening to the song if you want to help me find smth similar** but I’ll explain what it is that I like so much about it and what I keep finding instead.
This song is produced by shinichi osawa and the sound is purely synthetic, dark, ***deep house***, and almost “fashion runway”, the low end is a heavy steady bass groove almost four on the floor house kick, and the synths and production include electronic arpeggios that glide with the chord progression, the track has intricate EQ manipulation and sultry effortless vocals, the chorus has these house synth chord clustered hits as well.
What I’m not looking for: organic instrumentals or organic sounding instrumentals like fake guitars and fake brass sections, definitely no uplifting vibes or dreamy city pop type music, no chaotic distortion and heavily industrial sounds and definitely no aggressive vocals like punchy raps and high pop belts.
Please help me out you if you know anything similar!
I got a notification from my iPhone telling me to verify my Apple ID all of a sudden, so I enter my password but it doesn’t work, moments later I get an email saying my Apple account password has been changed, I press the “it wasn’t me” button, it takes me to reset my account password, I put in my trusted phone number. Receive the code and put it in, and then it’s asking me for a recovery key, which I never had enabled before, I’m guessing someone accessed my account and enabled the recovery key option, and now I’m locked out, I’m trying everything on the Apple help page and it all takes me back to the reset password page which doesn’t work cuz I need the “recovery key” what do I do.

This is more of a venting post so I put it under (rant)
So idk where to start but basically my family has been noticing how far from religion I am. They heard rumors before from my old friends that I am a Buddhist, (I was back then, now I’m atheist) when I was confronted I denied and denied until my family let me go, ever since then I’ve been barely talking to them and giving them the cold shoulder.
But an issue arises, apparently they want to leave the country without me because I’m supposed to continue uni here, and heres the deal, the house will no longer be available to me, I’m being simply abandoned and I have very little time to find a job, I’ve been trying and trying to apply to jobs and I never make it to the interview stage, I only have made it a couple of times and even then I got ghosted, not even a rejection, I’m aware I’m young with no certificate but despite being an amateur I’m an incredibly quick learner and I retain information indefinitely, these are things job providers can’t see through a cv or an interview but the gist of the matter is, how do I find a job as soon as possible where I make just enough past minimum wage to sustain myself all alone at 19, idk how my family could abandon their kid but I guess religion is that serious of a matter.

I know human vision doesn’t process light the way hearing processes sound, which is true.
But I’m asking whether mathematical color “intervals” might produce consistent aesthetic relationships.
Idk how correct this would be for light frequencies in comparison to sound frequencies , but I started with a spectral green around 550 nm (~545 THz) and treated it as a tonic.
Using musical ratios:
Root = 545 THz
Major third:
545 × (5/4) = 681 THz
Perfect fifth:
545 × (3/2) = 817.5 THz
[Which exceeds the visible range, so I treated it like an octave situation and divided by 2]
817.5 / 2 = 408.75 THz
Converting back to wavelengths gives roughly:
Root: 550 nm (green)💚
Major third: 440 nm (blue~violet)💜
Perfect fifth: 733 nm (deep red)❤️
So the resulting “major chord” is:
Green + Blue-Violet + Deep Red 💚💜❤️
I feel like this isn’t totally random cuz
Green and red are already considered a powerful complementary pair in traditional color theory, while blueviolet sits between them.
