v14.1 Lite review. Massive Upgrade!

I’ve put about 300 miles on my 2023 Model Y (HW3), and the difference from the last update is honestly huge.

Zero phantom braking, which was a constant issue with the last update.

Random accelerations are completely gone.

Lane centering is probably the biggest improvement. Before, it had constant micro adjustments to stay perfectly centered. Now it’s smooth, stays centered, and drives more naturally.

It also closes gaps much quicker when traffic speeds up instead of leaving enough room for a 747 to land.

I’ve mainly been using Hurry Mode and haven’t tested parking much.

For a relatively small update, I’m seriously impressed. The last version had me questioning FSD. This one is night and day so far. Hopefully it stays this way.

V14 Lite After 800 Highway Miles: A Disappointing Downgrade (For Now)

I’ve had V14 Lite on my 2023 Model Y for the past four days. I like how you can alternate using, using the right scroll wheel, between Sloth, Chill, Standard, and Hurry FSD profiles, and Hurry does a way better job maintaining speed than the old Max Speed setting.
Unfortunately, I can’t say I like the update overall yet. FSD drives noticeably less confidently than the previous version. It hesitates more and just doesn’t feel as smooth or predictable. On top of that, I’ve experienced phantom braking on every single highway drive, sometimes more than once. It’s pretty unsettling because it happens for no obvious reason, and I never had this issue before the update. I’ve also noticed a new brake clicking noise and occasional random surges where the car briefly accelerates before immediately settling back down.

Right now, this update honestly feels like a step backward. The new FSD profiles are a nice improvement, but the phantom braking, reduced confidence, brake clicking, and random surges outweigh the positives for me. Once Tesla fixes those issues, I think this will be a meaningful update. The phantom braking especially has got to be addressed.

Hurry mode + 85 mph max… why am I stuck doing 65?

I have FSD set to Hurry with a max speed of 85 mph, but it constantly drives way under that. It’ll cruise at 75–80 mph for a bit, then gradually slows itself down to around 65 mph for no apparent reason.
My commute is 3 hours, I leave around 4 AM, and there’s usually almost nobody on the freeway. It’s extremely frustrating having to keep nudging it back up. Is there a setting I’m missing, or is this just how FSD behaves?

Tire Recommendations for My 2023 Model Y AWD

live on California’s Central Coast and drive a lot, including a 300-mile round trip once a week for work plus around 60 miles on most other days.

I’m looking for:
● Quiet ride
● Long tread life
● Good efficiency/range
● Comfortable over sporty

Thanks!

CAL FIRE soft time after 1700 for a probationary FAE?

New full-time FAE on probation here. Is there an actual CAL FIRE policy that addresses watching TV after 1700 and whether you’re expected to stay in Class Bs all day, or is it entirely up to the captain and local station culture?
