go by Koda. Here's how I came up with the name- when I was 15-16 I really liked the name Dakota (I didn't know it was controversial) but I have a really long last name so I wasn't sure and my ex suggested I shorten it to Koda, I always spelt it with a d because I felt like people would pronounce kota with the t if I spelled it that way. Koda itself doesn't really have an origin besides usually being short for Dakota and it exists in Japan as a last name. I'm not Japanese though. Nobody has cared that I use the name Koda but I wanted to ask before I legally change it. There's an Italian last name (I'm Irish and Italian) Coda which is pronounced the same but spelled with a C. I'd consider Koda and Coda to be the same name but I wanted to ask is it wrong to use the name Koda? I like how Koda looks in cursive better
