Shout-out to Johnny's Italian restaurant!

Today we were feeling like someplace different from our usual spots and remembered about Johnny's Italian on 590 between McMullen Booth and US19. It's been a few years since eating there so I was worried that they may not even still be around. Happy to say they are still there and serving great food just as we remembered.

It's a long time, family run (I believe) home style Italian restaurant that probably hasn't changed their menu in years. That's a good thing when you crave some comfort food.

It's a great feeling to support a local business that just keeps on chugging decade after decade.

Vinoy hotel stay review - pretty good overall...

I had the opportunity to celebrate a special occasion with an overnight stay at the Vinoy last night and, of course, it's a great place for a special night out. We were surprised by how busy the main Elliot Aster dining room was but the staff said it was the slow season so I can't imagine how busy it would get during the high season.

Overall, the service, top to bottom was excellent. The staff seemed eager to take a few minutes to chat and it was refreshing to see all the smiling and folks that seemed to like their jobs.

We were joking about taking a star off for every little thing so they probably ended up with minus stars but we had to look hard to find minor issues and would definitely recommend it for anyone looking to splurge a bit.

Yeah, the outrageous prices were expected but getting one slice of toast with a $30 breakfast along with a basic subpar meal was probably the only real gripe.

We also went to the Zubrick Magic Theater and enjoyed it. Shout out to person on this sub that recommended it!

Rosemary Pea - Any hope?

I posted this in local Florida subs but all I got was despair and disappointment. It's mostly in one 10'sq area and I'm trying to be vigilant when I see it pop up elsewhere in my yard.

Did the book 'Tampa" by Alissa Nutting have anything to do with the city?

It grossed me out so much after about 15 pages that I couldn't finish it. It seems like an odd name given the subject matter so I was wondering if anyone was able to finish it and if it has anything to do with the city?

My good deed for the day!

Picked up two Wendys bags that some slobs just tossed on the ground at Phillipe park. I just don't get how some people think.
