AxionOS on Pixel 10: Worth it?

Hello everyone,

Today, while browsing Google, I came across a beautifully crafted custom ROM called AxionOS.

What I liked most is that it follows the NothingOS style-an operating system I absolutely love-and offers lock screen customization; plus, it's free of Google services (de-Googled).

For those of you using AxionOS, I'd like to know how you're finding it:

Does it support Material You?

Can I set Gemini as the virtual assistant?

Do Google apps (Phone By Google and Google Photos) work for you?

would you ever go back to stock PixelOS?

Thanks!

How to customize your Android like a pro?

Hi everyone! Today I’d like to briefly share why I chose Android and Smart launcher over iPhone, and the one word that sums it up is: customization. Unlike the iPhone, which is limited to the stock launcher, Android offers endless possibilities to make the phone truly your own—from wallpapers, effects, and icons to launchers and widgets. I’m curious to know how you’ve customized your Android phones.

The Pixel Watch 5 is gonna look the same, again!

Hi everyone! It seems Google by mistake or not has added the new Pixel Watch 5 to Google Health. Judging by the images, it might look the same (though it could just be a picture of the Pixel Watch 4). Anyway, I’m curious: do you think the upcoming Pixel Watch 5 will bring something revolutionary, or just incremental upgrades? Will you be swapping your current watch for this one? Let me know in the comments.

TP-Link USB Wi-Fi Adapter not working on Big Sur (Tried chris1111 & Itlwm/HeliPort) - Any lesser-known kexts or apps?

Hey everyone, I'm running a Hackintosh on macOS Big Sur and I'm having a hard time getting my TP-Link USB Wi-Fi adapter to work.

Here is what I’ve already tried with no luck:

Itlwm + Heliport: Didn't work (I know Itlwm is mainly for internal Intel cards, but I tried it out of desperation).

Wireless-USB-OC-Big-Sur-Adapter (by chris1111): Installed it, but the adapter still isn't recognized or completely fails to connect.

System details:

OS: macOS Big Sur

Bootloader: OpenCore

Wi-Fi: TP-Link USB Dongle (MediaTek chipset)

Does anyone know of a lesser-known kext, an alternative utility, or a specific version/patch that actually works for these USB adapters on Big Sur? I completely disabled SIP (csrutil disable) during the chris1111 package installation, but still nothing.

Does the Pixel 10 vanilla get "Create My Widget", or is it a Pro exclusive?

Need a clear confirmation. Does the base Pixel 10 support "Create My Widget" from the Gemini Intelligence pack? Given it has the Tensor G5 and 12GB RAM, it should handle the on-device processing just fine. Can anyone confirm with a solid source that this isn't locked to the Pro models? Looking for a concrete answer.

Welcome to the July Drop! This major update brings highly requested personalization features, smarter tracking metrics, a redesigned compact layout, and visual celebrations for your achievements.

When activated, the application header transforms to show the current release name: AquaPulse July Drop.

When deactivated, the interface reverts to a minimalist display showing simply: AquaPulse.

Sending my Pixel for the back glass gap issue (via local retailer in Romania)

Hey everyone! My Pixel has that known manufacturing defect where there's a small gap between the back glass and the frame. Since Google doesn't have an official Google Store in Romania, I have to send it through the local retailer I bought it from (eMAG).

Has anyone from Eastern Europe or regions without an official Google Store gone through this? Does the retailer usually ship it to Google's central hub in Europe for a replacement, or do they try to repair it locally? What was your experience and how long did it take? Thanks!

FocusToday: DND Pomodoro & Flash Alerts

I created a focus app (fully free and On-device) that helps you be more productive, this is a Nightly version so it may contain bugs

  1. The app is made based on the material you design you so it looks like it's from the future, almost.

  2. I love adding widgets to my apps because it gives them a unique vibe and as I like to say:I see information at a glance.

  3. The app will receive monthly updates.

If you want to appreciate my work you can leave a star or download it to your device from github https://github.com/SocialBoy2026/FocusToday

Thank you!

Found an Ancient City that collided with a Mineshaft. The environmental storytelling here is insane!

Hello r/Minecraft,

I was just casually mining today when I stumbled into something absolutely mind-blowing. I ended up in a massive Ancient City inside the Deep Dark biome. Honestly, even though I am currently playing on Peaceful mode (thank goodness, because the ambient cave sounds alone are terrifying!), this place gives me chills.

The environmental storytelling and the history of the monsters here is insane. To understand this place, you have to look at how it all started:

  1. The Origin of the Monster: What is Sculk?

Before the Warden, there was the Sculk infection. It didn't start as normal stone; it's a cosmic, organic plague that thrives on death. When a living creature dies near a Sculk Catalyst, the block drinks their experience points and life force, spreading the blue, glowing veins across the cold Deepslate.

If you look closely at the blocks, the textures are straight out of a horror movie. The patterns form hollow eyes and wide-open mouths, looking exactly like screaming faces or trapped souls. It’s literally a graveyard made of the spirits of whatever lived here before.

  1. The Birth of the Warden

The Warden isn't just a random mob; it is the ultimate defense mechanism of the Sculk ecosystem. The ancient civilization didn't realize that by making sound, they were alerting the Sculk Sensors. When these sensors vibrate, they signal the Sculk Shriekers (the blocks with four horns).

Once a Shrieker screams four times, it pulls the Warden straight out of the ground. The Warden is completely blind because it spent thousands of years in absolute darkness, but it has souls trapped in its ribcage that beat like a loud heart. It hears everything and exists solely to hunt down and destroy any outsider who threatens the deep.

  1. The Tragic History of the People

Long ago, an ancient, highly advanced civilization fled the surface—probably running away from a massive threat like the Wither. They built these gorgeous, massive cities deep underground. They were master engineers who built hidden Redstone laboratories and grand avenues.

Eventually, they realized they weren't alone and that making noise summoned a monster they couldn't defeat (the Warden has 500 HP and kills you in one or two hits). In a desperate bid to survive, they covered entire long corridors with gray wool and carpets just so they could walk around their own city in absolute silence. But it wasn't enough. The Sculk eventually consumed them all, leaving the city as a silent, haunted tomb.

  1. The Glitch in Time: Two Worlds Collide

But the craziest part of my discovery is how the world generation glitched. An old, traditional abandoned Mineshaft generated right over the Ancient City.

Seeing that warm, oak wood structure on cobblestone pillars suspended over this dark, soul-eating blue abyss looks completely otherworldly. It’s like two completely different eras of Minecraft history collided in one room. A group of normal surface miners probably dug too deep, saw this cursed, screaming abyss, and abandoned their shafts out of pure terror.

I came here thinking it was just a useless cave, but now I’m hooked on the history of this place. I'm off to raid the rest of the chests for disk fragments (which literally record the horrific sounds of the city being destroyed).

What are your favorite theories about the Deep Dark?

[DEV] AquaPulse: Material You Water App💧

Hey HowToMen,

I wanted to share AquaPulse, a native hydration tracker I've been building to learn modern Android development and Jetpack Compose.

Unlike many trackers out there, I wanted something that feels like a native part of the OS while keeping user data entirely safe.

What makes it special:

True Material You: The entire app UI and dynamic color palette adapt on the fly based on your current system wallpaper.

100% On-Device Privacy: No account creation, no sign-ins, and no cloud syncing. All your data stays completely offline, encrypted on your own device.

Smart Background Alerts: Reliable local notifications to keep you on track with your water goals throughout the day.

Interactive Widgets and Tiles: Quick logging straight from your home screen using beautifully designed widgets or via a custom Quick Settings Tile.

Roadmap and Feedback:

This is an early release of my very first project, so you might encounter some minor layout bugs. I am fully committed to supporting this app and plan to release continuous monthly feature updates that I call "Drops".

The first big "Drop" is coming this June, focusing heavily on custom app icon styles and deeper home screen personalization! Since June is right around the corner, my dream is to get AquaPulse polished enough to maybe even catch the eye of creators like HowToMen for a "Best Apps of June" video. 🤞

I would absolutely love to get your honest feedback, feature requests, or bug reports to help me reach that goal!
