Anyone have students from Augustana University?

I’ve been a CI for many years but hosting my first student from Augustana this fall, which is a hybrid program (at home and then on-site for labs for a week or two, I believe).

Has anyone hosted? Any difference between students from here or “traditional” programs? I want to make sure i provide the best environment for them to learn and thrive!

Can you get in without prebook? ATL

We (spouse and I) fly into ATL tomorrow and have a 3-ish hour layover. I have a paid PP membership (not through a credit card).

Prebook isn’t available right now, except for 45min before our flight departure!

What are chances that we can still get in during our layover? Or should I plan on just sitting in the terminal?

Current outpatient ortho - expectation of salary other fields?

Been a PT for almost 26yrs, always outpatient ortho. Hold multiple certs including pelvic floor (male and female), chronic pain, ART, MFR, etc.

The game is catching up to me QUICK and I am burning out fast.

Problem is, I make a decent salary (118k) and my understanding is without maintaining a management role (currently a clinic manager) I’ll take a pay cut to go elsewhere in outpatient. (FWIW I’m in a MCOL area in the Midwest)

What other fields or what other sectors of PT could I expect to make similar income but less stress? I’ve always planned to work until retirement but at this point, I want to leave and never come back.

Private practice (cash pay) but keeping empathy for those that can’t afford it??

I work outpatient ortho, non-hospital but larger company, and specialize in chronic pain/complex diagnoses and also do pelvic floor (male and female). We take insurance. I have a waiting list and a constant supply of returning patients.

FWIW I am a manager of the clinic, supervise 3 therapists, as well as support staff (front desk and techs). I’ve been a PT for 26yrs.

I’ve always wanted to run my own clinic and have my own practice — but the clientele I serve, especially the chronic pain and Medicare patients, don’t have the $$ ability to do a private pay clinic. With reimbursement being beyond sh!!t these days, I know applying for these will be even lower than working for my current practice.

How do you end or manage your own empathy in these situations? I truly love what I do, but I don’t know if I can continue to try and work extra to hit the metrics and KPI that our company wants. I just don’t have the energy anymore for it, and I know that’s truly where things are because of our reimbursement continuing to go down. Many of my patients that I’ve treated for years do not have the ability to pay more for my care if I open a private pay practice.

Are there any solutions that people have found?

Application direction

Do you apply inner cluster first and go inside-to-outside, or the other way around?

I just read a thread and realized I do outside-to-inside — and wondering what the actual best technique is!

(FWIW, I have hooded eyes w/ oily lids)

Oura 4 vs 5? Discount only on the 4!

I’ve been wanting one for a while but currently only have a discount on the 4 (via a membership to the 🍋 store)….

Is the 5 worth it?

Mainly using for steps/activity and sleep tracking! I do have an Apple Watch I use as well.

Bond/Seal available easily?

No time to order from Lilac or Lashify - any specific bond/seal recommended that’s available from “the River” store or Ulta (in store)?

Been using Ardell Duo bond/seal, which works ok, but wondering if any other better options out there.

TIA!

Gradual self-tanner with least smell?

I’ve been using Jergens natural glow, which has a little smell but not much color payoff. I generally apply after my morning shower.

What other options are there? I’d like to do arms, chest, legs - Jergens has only been used on my legs so far.

Face tanning?

I’ve done both the St Tropez spray and the Coco & Eve spray, both tend to make my nose red/darker and wear uneven for me.

Has anyone used body lotion or body self-tanner for face? How do you use it?

Thanks!

Freedom of the Seas - thoughts on this situation?

Upcoming cruise (late May 2026) - I just called RC just to see what the upgrade cost would be (we have an ocean view room only) - in addition to what we’ve paid for the room already (around $1400, not including prepaid gratuities):

$716 for balcony.
$1000ish for a suite guarantee.

This is for a 5-nt cruise stopping in Nassau and Coco Cay only.

We only have an excursion planned for Coco Cay, planning on staying on the ship in Nassau or just walking around. We have the Key and the refreshment package (all but alcohol).

While I understand this can be very subjective and personal preference, what do you think/what would you do?

(FWIW I’m traveling with my newly graduated daughter as her grad gift! Only 2 of us so room numbers are not an issue.)

Devaluation date??

I thought the devaluation went into effect May 1; but I still see posts saying “I want to take advantage before….”

So when does it take effect?

Will be for my 50th birthday celebration with my husband. I’m Emerald status with RCCL but have only done Caribbean cruises so far.

Leaves late May 2027 from Athens - stops are Mykonos, Santorini, Ephesus (Turkey), Bodrum (Turkey), Rhodes, one day at sea and then back to Athens.

Potentially thinking a sunset suite (it is my 50th!), but don’t know much about Rhapsody. Thinking we’d do a few days in Athens before the cruise and then fly out the day after.

Tell me anything I need to know about these ports, pros/cons of the ship or suite, or anything else I should look at for a European cruise! TIA!

Leaving from Miami in about a month - assigned a 1:30pm boarding time but would like to arrive earlier for our lunch. Can we show up around 11?

Also I’m hearing horror stories about the Miami port lately; our hotel is by the airport. How early should we have the uber come?!
