Encouragement.

I just wanted to let everyone know that it indeed is so okay to eat, and better yet it is okay to enjoy what you eat. Food is seriously medicine I mean come on besides the taste and fun flavors, all food in its natural form really has a benefit to your body, micro and macro wise. Almond butter gives you healthy fats and key nutrients like vitamin E, potatoes give you sustainable carbs and contain potassium, salmon puts quality protein in your body and contains high amounts of vitamin D. I’m writing this to encourage others and myself that food is not only ‘not the enemy’ but that it’s even more so the only medicine literally every single person in this world needs to sustain their lives. Personally, I believe that food is a provision from God and is meant to be taken in with thanksgiving and joy. Again personally, I believe that God created food to sustain us and if I am not to take in what sustains my body, I am refusing to do His will for my life, because you can’t run on fumes let alone spread the Glory of Him with no brain or body fuel. :))

E recovery

Does anyone else eat and then like have to instantly lay down? Even being so full, I try not to lay down after I eat and walk instead but lately i’ve been so drained that a walk let alone sitting up is just too much for me. Idk i feel like I beat myself up for it because it’s like, if i’m going to eat this much I tell myself that I at least want to be a tiny bit active, but no, my body overrides what my mind thinks/wants 😭❤️

Strange symptoms?

I notice a lot of people in this group always wonder whether they can continue exercising/weight lifting/ running or not in order to still restore their menstrual cycle and get back to health, and it makes me wonder if anyone else is in the same shape as me lol. I wish my questions could stem down to whether or not I can continue exercising but I actually physically can’t, I don’t feel healthy enough to do so! Not just from a mindset change or worry of messing with my bodies ability to still recover with activity, but because I’m at the point to where i feel like even keeping up with daily tasks and my own self care make me winded. I’m actually not sure if this is happening more now that I am in recovery or if I am just noticing it more and really thinking about how exhausted I truly feel because of the fact I have the mindset of recovering from it all. I don’t know I just wanted to vent a bit, and I also wanted to mention that I’m having slight bradycardia and definite extreme hunger. I just say we all got thisss and we all gonna be just fine :) though I’d be lying if i said i wasn’t concerned and scared about these symptoms, like the title, it just all feels so strange. ugh

Does anyone relate or know what’s going on?

So i’ve been in ‘recovery’ for a few months now, forced not by anyone but my own body. Yes my own body forced me into this by sending scary symptoms to me, and of course extreme hunger. My reason for this post is to talk about what those symptoms are, so i’ll just say that i’ve been having low blood pressure/blood sugar symptoms like after i eat something, 2 hours later my body is giving hypoglycemia signals to me and it’s like if i don’t eat i feel like in that moment i am literally going to pass out, the hunger is not gradual or normal it’s more like a feeling of life or death. Is it my body possibly just needing more fuel or is it maybe my body doing this in order for me to actually eat. I will say that while my body chose this for me, I had it in my head that I do want to get better because i hate disordered eating so much, i just didn’t choose myself to eat this much all at once.

Advice?

I eat a lot through out the day, enough and more to support recovery but when it becomes almost midnight the usual time i’ll have my snack, I find myself eating sooooooo much that i wake up so bloated and the cycle repeats. I’m not UW, i don’t burn off too much energy during the day, I eat very well and pretty balanced too, but i still feel like i have to eat so much before i go to sleep and it’s really starting to affect me mentally and physically as it causes me to have almost no energy afterwards. What could this be and when would it come to a plateau?

Round #2 of HA, Advice?

This is my second time recovering from HA and restrictive eating, it was a personal choice as to why i’m having to recover again. The first time I began recovery from HA I had it going for me and i genuinely loved the way I looked, my hair was full and thick, my skin was glowing and my overall outer appearance was so beautiful and feminine. It started because I was wanting to try and maintain my weight, I don’t think I was really trying to lose anymore I cannot really remember even though this was just last year around this time. The thing is though, I’m not so sure I really know how to maintain my weight without losing or over exerting my body.. it’s weird. My reason for this post truly is to ask anyone in this community if by any chance, because this is my second HA diagnosis, would I be able to achieve last years recovery? The glowing skin, the full thick hair, the energy levels I had, the feminine look I had, and lastly would I be able to recover again this time into the same shape? I really loved the way I looked, I was still fit but of course more filled out. Thank you :)))

I wanna start strength training but…

I wanna start strength training to be stronger, more fit, for my mental health, for a healthy routine, and so much more but i’m stuck between a few things. I currently am recovering halfway from disordered eating and currently going through hypothalamic amenorrhea. I don’t know if i should just allow my body to recover from the effects of my past disorders eating and HA or if i should go ahead and start incorporating my fitness goals while my body heals from this? It’s just i know that i want to better my body and life with fitness but i don’t want to be tearing it down even more while trying to benefit from it. I am F18

Can anyone with experience help me?

I’ve been recovering from disordered eating and HA for about a month and a half now, i’ve recovered one cycle so far, though i’ve noticed something so strange.. whenever i eat something like a meal or a filling snack, my blood pressure drops on me and i have POTS symptoms. I thought i was having hypoglycemia but i monitored my blood sugar and it was fine, leading me to check my blood pressure and boom that’s the problem. Also these symptoms to me, without even needing to check if it’s my blood sugar or my blood pressure, give clear signs that it’s my blood pressure and not my blood sugar.

Super funny.. not.

Y’all , i am currently going through a mild to moderate case of EH and it’s like midnight right now, i just finished eating a lot of snacks on top of everything i ate today.. the thing is i eat, let my tummy settle so i can brush my teeth and go to sleep but then i get hungry again so i eat. This has happened for about an hour now a couple times i’ve wanted to let the food settle and brush my teeth but it’s like i keep getting hungry and i keep eating. wondering if ill ever end this night with clean teeth and a cozy bed. LOLLLLL i just have to laugh through the pain, but hey.. thank Jesus i even have the food to nourish my body ammmriiightt?

Anyone relate like at all?

Anyone else like totally over the EH phase of recovery? it’s so bad. I just want to be able to go about the day like someone who isn’t/hasn’t gone through an ed, someone who knows when they are hungry and when they are full. It’s like i’m hungry but at the same time i’m not. i have no idea but i know through this all, God has sustained me and brought me from my lowest point, i went from not knowing if i was going to survive to now just wondering if this EH will ever subside 😵‍💫. edit: i just ate like so much rotisserie chicken and fruit (special craving) and now still debating if i should just go to sleep or eat some peanut butter.. i’m like so full but somewhere i feel a hunger sensation it literally makes NO sense.

Earning food..?

why is it so difficult to still eat something if i hadn’t been active or exercised before a meal time? it’s like my mind convinces me i’m not truly hungry for the meal or that i shouldn’t have any reason to be hungry if i hadn’t done anything physically active in order to sit down and simply enjoy a meal. I know this is false and if anyone else feels this way, i hope you too, would know it is a false thing to believe/live this way.. but it’s just really weird and mentally draining.
