Taylor Swift performed last night in LA for the GRAMMY Museum “THE ICON SESSIONS”

Reports mention performances of "August", "All Too Well" and "I Knew It, I Knew You"

Here is what an attendee said:

“MY NIGHT WITH TAYLOR SWIFT - The Grammy Academy hosted a Taylor Swift talk tonight. The invite just mentioned Academy President Harvey Mason Jr, but it was like a 'Wink IYKYK' thing.

Taylor came onstage and shared her beautiful stories of how she writes songs and where she gets her endless inspiration from. Then she played a few tunes for the 100 or so people there. It wasn't even sold out, there were empty seats.

I honestly am not a 'Swiftie,' though her success is as big as it gets. The biggest Grammy winning female in history. Afterward there was a reception and I had a sweet, and kinda nerdy songwriter chat with her for quite a long time. Alot of people were trying to get in and talk with her, but she has a laser attention and when it was on me, the world was shut off around us.

Here's some songwriting nuggets I wrote down.

  • She told the audience "Enthusiasm can protect you from anything." At the reception I shared her the word "Enthusiasm" actually comes from ancient Greece, meaning 'the divine within,' or 'possessed by divine inspiration.'
  • She plays a spinet piano on tour. I mentioned to her that Paul McCartney also plays a spinet. She told me she likes a smaller piano so she can see over it and look around at everyone onstage and in the crowd.
  • ‘YES AND'- Is a big thing for her when songwriting and recording. Trying an idea, but being open to exploring music with another point of view.
  • Show up to work even then the 'Idea Fairy' as she calls her muse of inspiration isn't around. It sometimes shows up when you do.

I was impressed she stayed to talk to everyone who attended. As I report this, she is likely still speaking to the people at the Grammy Museum giving every person very present, quality time.”

Me when I realized the connection 🤡

Taylor went out in London last night.... to the same place from two years ago! In 2024 she wore that plaid outfit in Showgirl colors as a nod to plaid day, October 3rd, TLOAS release date. The exit sign as well. And now almost 2 years later she's there again?! 🤡 TS13?

Country artists that could be featured on the re-recording of Debut

Let's talk about possible country artists that could be featured on Debut TV.

Tim McGraw - The obvious one, Taylor's first song was titled after him and she has expressed her admiration towards him many times

Faith Hill - Tim's wife, Taylor opened for their tour and they've been friend for years who have also helped her navigate the music industry

Shania Twain - Taylor has mentioned her as her idol who she looked up to while Shania also praised Taylor's songwriting

Dolly Parton - Both have expressed respect and admiration towards each other's work and recently Dolly thanked Taylor for her charity donation to her foundation

The Chicks - Taylor has collaborated with them on Lover and they've been an important inspiration to her

Keith Urban - Featured on That's When, Taylor also opened for his tour and they've shared a long friendship with many performances together

Miranda Lambert - Taylor has shared the stage of the 1989 tour with her and Miranda recently attended Taylor’s wedding.

Kelsea Ballerini - The roles flip here as Taylor was the artist that inspired Kelsea to start writing her own songs. Later Taylor publicly praised her work and they've established a long friendship since then

Maren Morris - Featured on You All Over Me, the two have performed together multiple times and are friends

Lainey Wilson - Taylor recently performed Love Story with her at TEU

Ella Langley - A new very successful country artist that Taylor was photographed with this year at the iHeart Awards

Little Big Town and Sugarland - Taylor has written Better Man and Babe for the groups respectively, they've performed together and were invited to Taylor’s wedding

Miley Cyrus - While not a country artist, the songs Crazier and You'll Always Find Your Way Back Home written by Taylor were featured in the Hannah Montana movie starring Miley. An inclusion of the songs on the rerecorded album is very likely and Miley being featured would be a nice throwback

Beyoncé - A very close industry friend of Taylor who explored the country sound in her latest album and could be a dynamic addition to a more rebellious song

Which artist do you hope is featured on Debut TV?

Debut era unreleased songs discussion and wish list

With the 20th anniversary of Taylor’s debut album coming up and an announcement of a re-recorded version of the album probably being close I wanted to go back to the archives of the unreleased songs from that era and see if some of these might be included as vault tracks.

! Note: None of these have been leaked "illegally" or without Taylor’s consent. They come from demo CDs she used to send to labels and radio stations in Nashville before she even had a record deal. Fans have discovered them through the years and reposted them online.

Since there are many of those tracks and in multiple websites and forms I picked some of my favorites and organized them in one place. Below I've sorted them out based on the likelihood (in my opinion) of them being officially released as vault tracks on the final album. I will also put the link to each song in the comments for you to listen! Turns out my comment with the links got removed so DM me and I can send them to you!

Very likely:

• I'd Lie

• Lucky You

• Dark Blue Tennessee

• Permanent Marker

• R-E-V-E-N-G-E

• Sweet Tea And God’s Graces

• All Night Diner

Quite likely:

• Just South Of Knowing Why (Drive All Night)

• Don't Hate Me For Loving You

• Smokey Black Nights

• Never Mind

• Who I've Always Been

• Your Face

• Thirteen Blocks (Can't Call It Love)

• This Is Really Happening

• Your Anything

• What Do You Say?

• Honey Baby

Unlikely:

• Ten Dollars And A Six Pack

• By The Way

• I Know What I Want

• Brought Up That Way

• Need You Now

• Thinking 'Bout You

• What To Wear

• Welcome Distraction

• My Cure

• Kid In The Crowd

• Never Fade

• That's Life

Very unlikely:

• I Used To Fly

• Making Up For Lost Love

• Better Off

• Stupid Boy

• Same Girl

• Writing Songs About You

• Point Of View

• Why Do You Tell Me?

• Closest To A Cowboy

• Firefly

• Can I Go With You?

• Cross My Heart

• Check Out This View

Special cases, possible:

• Let's Go (Battle) (recorded for Speak Now)

• Drama Queen (recorded for Speak Now)

• The Diary Of Me (not written by Taylor)

• Am I Ready For Love? (not written by Taylor)

• Didn't They (about 9/11)

And many more...

What songs are on your wish list?
