Does anyone else feel bullied for being a Swiftie?

At this point, I genuinely feel bullied by Swiftie haters.

Whenever I try to defend something that makes me happy, or explain why I love Taylor's music, people immediately call me creepy, obsessed, or delusional. It's exhausting. It feels like there's no point in even trying to explain yourself, because they've already decided that being a Swiftie makes you weird.

Am I not allowed to enjoy something anymore without being ridiculed for it? Why do I have to justify my music taste to people who clearly have no interest in understanding it?

And honestly, would people react the same way if we were talking about Drake or another male artist? Why is being enthusiastic about Taylor Swift so often treated as something embarrassing or pathological?

I'm not saying Taylor is above criticism, or that every Swiftie is right about everything. Of course not. But there's a difference between criticizing an artist and making people feel ashamed for enjoying their music.

It genuinely feels like a witch hunt sometimes. I can only imagine how exhausting it must be to have millions of people constantly dissecting your every move and treating your existence as a reason to be angry.

I just want to enjoy something that makes me happy without having to defend my right to enjoy it. Is that really so much to ask?

With The Encore doing so well, I've been wondering when Taylor might announce Debut TV, especially since the original album turns 20 on October 24.

October 13 is interesting because of the 10:13 and Tuesday clues from the Emmys skit. Could she announce it then and release it around the anniversary? Or do you think she'll continue promoting The Encore and save Debut TV for 2027?😿

So much love for The Encore!

I love these new songs so much. I can’t stop listening to them on repeat. Every time I try to walk away and listen to something else, I end up crawling right back. literally every single one is perfection to me. Patient Zero is an all around banger, but it also really does cover the concept of being killed slowly by emotional abuse so well. “When the fever turns a dreamer into a pathetic ghost” really stuck with me. I think, especially with the combination of the music video, many woman are going to see themselves in this song. I’ve found solace in it.

Cleveland! is one of my favorites. It’s so fun and danceable and I’ll defend it til I die. When I need to smile I put this one on. It’s sort of like the London Boy of showgirl if that makes sense… And London Boy is one of my favorites off lover, so of course I love Cleveland. I love silly, I love fun, I love catchy. I just love pop music.

Pink clouding has a gorgeous production, and by far the fast singing in the bridge is my favorite part. “I swear to God, to this day I wake up scared that I left scars on a good person”. Extremely relatable, beautifully done!!!

I don’t even have words for Babylon. It’s so classic Taylor. Genuinely such an amazing song. “The self harm of never being where you are” was instantly one of my favorite lyrics. It’s way too cutting, gorgeous, melancholic. It makes me tear up.

I just love these songs so much, and love Showgirl in general (no skip album for me!). I want to put more positivity about it out there, because everything is so grossly negative right now. No matter what the noise online says, there are people out there who genuinely love this album and are grateful that Taylor released it.

What do you love about Taylor Swift?

I don’t know about y’all, but all the social media hate around Showgirl/Encore and Taylor in general has been getting me down lately. (I know I should just ignore it, but it’s hard to!)

When did people start expecting intellectualism in harmless fanspaces?

This is more of a serious post. I'm curious to hear if anyone has experienced something similar.

I am so disappointed. I guess I havent been paying much attention for quite some time. I only really started to notice around TTPD that people had some high horses.

I was very recently engaging in a discussion elsewhere. It was over an easter egg, and I made a playful comment that I would start "clowning" again. An "easter egg pessimist", if you will, came quickly to shut me down and make me feel stupid for even entertaining the theory. I asked them why it was necessary, and they said my behavior was unhealthy, abnormal, anti-intellectual, antisocial. Over an easter egg???

Interacting with swifties online used to be fun. Playful, harmless, carefree, lighthearted. Now it's like theres this internal divide between casual people and those who make everything a thinkpiece. Like.. live a little or something. Is it really that serious? Theres enough hating in every other place. Now it feels like I cant catch a break anywhere.
