Personal experience as a small business owner too

I just wanted to share this for anyone trying to get started with UGC.

It can be pretty discouraging sometimes when you’re making content, sending pitches, and not really seeing results yet. But I think it’s important to remember that it takes time to build something.

I feel the same way with my crochet business. I can spend hours making something, take photos, post it, and sometimes it feels like nobody even notices.I still keep making things because I enjoy it, and I know that little by little I’m getting better.

So if you’re also trying to grow as a UGC creator, don’t be too hard on yourself. Keep practicing, keep posting, and keep putting yourself out there. You never know when the right opportunity will come along.

We all have to start somewhere. ❤️ Keep going, you’ve got this!

Is it weird if I usually skip episodes?

So I usually skips episodes when daisy is in it, she's not my cup of tea though I did watch the early episodes she's in but after sometime I skip the episode or skip the scenes she's in

Is it weird that I want to distance myself from my friend?

This is my first Reddit post, and English isn't my first language, so please bear with me.

I met my friend during our freshman year in college. I'm naturally introverted and never really wanted a big friend group. We became close after she had a falling out with her original group of friends. According to her, they bullied her and took advantage of her financially because she was always paying whenever they went out.

For months, I listened to her vent about them. I kept telling her that if they really treated her badly, she should stop chasing after them and move on. But every time she complained about one particular friend (I'll call her Joly), she'd still end up buying her birthday gifts or doing favors for her. Then a few days later she'd come back to me saying she felt used again. Eventually I got tired of repeating the same advice.

Over the years, I also started noticing something that bothered me.

She would often promise me things without me asking. For my birthday, she said she'd buy me a lip tint. It never happened. I didn't really care because I wasn't expecting gifts.

Then after my father passed away, she messaged me saying she had talked to her mom and they wanted to help with my daily allowance since my father had been our family's sole provider. I was honestly touched, but that also never happened. I never brought it up again because I know she isn't responsible for supporting me. (She didn't attend my father funeral but didn't really mind because a lot of close friends of mine did)

After she told me she'd buy me a new wallet because mine looked old. Again, it never happened. She even told me she already had it but forgot it at her grandmother's house. I just told her it was okay.

The thing is, I don't really care about receiving gifts. What hurts is the constant promises that never become reality.

Meanwhile, she still spends money on the same person (Joly) she says hurt her. I've seen her pay for one of those friends' university contributions because I'm the one who collects the class funds. And still continuing the birthday gifts.

There are also a lot of things she says that make me question whether she's being truthful. She talks about family vacations abroad, I understand if she didn't post them or but she's not even showing me any photos from that vacation. Businesses her family supposedly owns that she doesn't tell us the names apparently they are located at the airport and also they have a salon, and other stories that doesn't really have any proof. I don't want to accuse her of lying, but after years of hearing things that never seem to add up, I've started doubting a lot of what she tells me.

The latest issue happened during our thesis. We had a lot of expenses, and she asked me to cover her share first because she didn't have the money at the time. I agreed because I had saved up for our thesis anyway.

That was two months ago.

I've politely asked if she could just send the money through e-wallet or bank transfer since we're on our break and can't meet in person, but she still hasn't paid me back.

I don't hate her, and I don't think she's a terrible person. We've been friends for almost four years, and we've spent almost every day together in college. But lately I've realized I don't think this is a friendship I want to keep for the rest of my life.

I've already started creating a little distance, and I honestly feel guilty about it.

For those who've experienced something similar, how did you know it was time to let a friendship slowly fade instead of continuing to invest in it? Am I overthinking this, or would you feel the same in my situation?
