Context:
In the underground, an adult human named Kouki fell into Mt. Ebott. Going through a pacifist route, he got to Asgore and struck a deal: he would give up his soul willingly at the end of his natural life. Not wanting to kill more people, Asgore agreed. This human proceeded to fall in love with a wyvern monster, named Yume, and they were shortly wed.

Later, a new child fell into the underground... But proceeded to massacre all monsters in their way, unbeknownst to the couple, who took them in and helped them. But once they realized the child's true intentions, they quickly ran away to Alphys... To get an experimental serum.

At the end, in the church they were wed, the couple confront the child. Both taking the serum, they embrace each other and begin merging into one, becoming the perfect fusion of human and monster. They then declare themselves... The Paragon of All Things Living.
