I Hope This Never Happens

It feels like Sony wants more people to buy games directly from the PlayStation Store instead of sharing, lending, or buying used copies. If physical discs slowly disappear, console sharing is one of the last ways people can still share games.

This is just my own thought. But it feels the direction that they are heading is like their long-term goal is for every person to buy their own copy instead of sharing, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if they make console sharing more limited someday.

Just my two cents. Feel free to disagree or ignore it.

TL;DR: I just hope PlayStation leaves Console Sharing and Offline Play alone. Enough damage has already been done to the ecosystem.

The Console Industry This Week in One Meme

I just hope Nintendo stays on the right track. I've honestly lost trust in Sony over the last few years.

Sony games boss says company will bravely keep sending live services over the top, despite cancelling 8 of the 12 ones planned for 2025 and wiping out most of Destiny 2's developers

I just don't get it, dude. Live service has never been Sony's strong point. They're at their best when they focus on single-player games. I really wish they'd put more time and resources into what they're actually good at.

The Steam Machine Feels Like the Best of Both Worlds, except the price

The biggest reason I'm excited for the Steam Machine isn't the performance. It's the fact that it's a PC built like a console. I've always wanted to get into PC gaming, but I never wanted the hassle of building a PC, assembling all the parts, or swapping parts every few years. I just want to plug it into my TV, install my games, and play. I know I'll have to upgrade someday, but when that time comes, I'd rather replace the whole machine than swap individual parts. I also like that it's portable enough to carry with me if I move to another town or while traveling. I also think the Steam Machine should be able to handle up to 1080p 60 FPS on High settings (not Ultra) with FSR until around 2030, and honestly, that's more than enough for me. If the Steam Machine does well, I wouldn't be surprised if other companies start making their own Steam Machines, just like what happened after the Steam Deck. More competition usually means more choices, different price points, and hopefully better value.

My only concern is after-sales support. We all know how limited repair options are in India. If something goes wrong, getting it repaired could be a nightmare. I'd like to see prices come down sooner, but I don't expect that to happen anytime soon. ( If I somehow get my hands on a Steam Machine, the first thing I'm playing is the Zelda games. 😂 and u know how😏)

My Weekend Went From Bad to Worse. First I Lost My Save File, Then My PS5 Died

Well, folks, my PS5 is dead.

On Friday, I lost my 30-hour KCD1 save because my sister accidentally clicked "Transfer Save Data from PS4." I turned off my PS5 after that, and the next morning it just wouldn't turn on.

I thought it was the power cable, so I bought a new one, but the console still won't power on.

I bought this PS5 in 2023 and have only had around 470 hours on it. I always used a surge protector and a stabilizer, so I never expected this.

This is also the second console that's died on me. My PS4 Slim died just 4 days after I bought it in 2017. Thankfully, Amazon replaced it, and that replacement lasted until I sold it earlier this year.

Gaming was one of the few things that helped me relax, so this honestly sucks, and I have never felt this annoyed in many years.

EDIT: I only placed the console on the towel while I was packing it up. That's not where I normally keep or use it. I have a separate table in my room where my PS5 usually stays.

The Saddest Gaming Evolution.

I really hope it changes in the future. I don't want physical games to go extinct just because digital is more convenient and more cost-effective for gaming companies.

[KCD1], lost my save file on PS5

I was playing the PS5 native version of KCD1 and had around 30 hours in. I left my controller for a minute, and my sister was trying to exit the game. She accidentally clicked "Transfer Save Data from PS4."

Now, when I load the game, my 30-hour save is gone, and all I can see is an old PS4 save from 2018 with about 2 hours of progress.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Here is the steam machine price reveal

I think this machine would've been a much bigger hit if it weren't for the AI boom.

Anyone Here Planning to Get a Steam Machine?

Anyone getting a Steam Machine? It won't launch officially in India, but importing is an option. Since the release date is expected to be announced this week, I was wondering if anyone here is planning to get one. Also, how long do you guys think the Steam Machine's lifespan will be? My guess is around 5–6 years, with most games running at 1080p on high settings and a variable refresh rate target of around 30–60 FPS.

RIP to one of the founders of Ubisoft

Even though Ubisoft hasn't been living up to its potential lately, he was one of the people who helped build it into what it became. May he rest in peace. REQUIESCAT IN PACE

well I guess steam machine is on its way

TL;DR: Expect the Steam Machine's launch date and pricing to be revealed before June 30. As for Steam Frame, it looks like Valve may be saving that announcement for sometime in July.

Seems like playstation is entering the layoff competition too

Every time Xbox ends up in the headlines for layoffs or studio closures, I dunno why Sony also does it. Goddamn, from rumours it seems that Housemarque is on the chopping block now
