Lost track of new games this year due to personal/family circumstances. Give me your recs!

Hi all. This has been a pretty crazy year for me as I was a caretaker for a family member, and these last few months have been full of taking care of their needs up to their passing just a little over a month back. I’m so happy I was able to do it and to be there for them.

All that being said, I’m able to get some time to relax and dive back into gaming (PS5 Pro). I have missed quite a bit about new games that have come out this year and would love to hear about what you have enjoyed. I’m pretty flexible on genre and everything, so I’m really an open book!

Build Help: First-timer wanting 4K gaming, buying parts in phases

Never built a PC before and want to get into PC gaming. I know the basics (CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard), but I don’t know how to pick them or what actually matters for gaming versus what’s overkill.

Budget: Open-ended for now. I’m starting this build now but buying parts in phases since my budget will grow over time. My plan is to get the core of the system in place first (motherboard, case, PSU, storage) and prioritize the GPU purchase for when I have more to put toward it.

Use Case: Gaming in general, but I gravitate toward games with excellent graphics. My library spans a wide range: story-driven action/adventure games, open-world RPGs, co-op titles, platformers, racing sims, and roguelikes. I enjoy 4K gaming, currently on an LG OLED TV with my PS5 Pro and Switch 2. With the PC, I’ll be gaming on a desk monitor.

Country: US

Peripherals: Will need a monitor capable of 4K; don’t have one yet.

A few quick questions:
*Where do I start with picking parts? What GPU do I actually need for 4K without overspending?
*Is it better to build a decent setup now and upgrade the GPU later, or just wait and buy it all at once?
*What are the common first-timer mistakes I should avoid?

Appreciate any help. Just trying to learn as I go.

Are there previews for The Odyssey IMAX 70MM?

EDIT: Called the theater (Cinemark Dallas XD and IMAX) and there will be a 5 minute introduction talking about IMAX 70MM film and then a preview for Dune: Part Three. Thanks all!

I tried posting this in the IMAX sub but it got removed by the mods. I am coming in from out of town to watch it, as I did with Oppenheimer in 2023. I seem to recall that Oppenheimer did not have previews beforehand for the IMAX 70MM showing, but wanted to check if that may be the case with The Odyssey.

Thank you!
