Hi everyone,

I ordered an Acer Aspire 7 from Flipkart for around ₹63,189 using an SBI credit card. I also selected the exchange option for my old Dell Latitude E6420.

Today I went to the Flipkart hub to collect the laptop. The outer box wasn't damaged, and I wanted to do a proper Open Box inspection before accepting such an expensive product.

My old Dell laptop has multiple issues. It doesn't charge properly, the keyboard doesn't work, and it only reaches the Dell logo. On Flipkart's exchange page, there was an option for "Dead/Laptop not working", so I requested them to inspect it under that category. However, they didn't mark it as dead.

I even told them that if there was any issue with the exchange, I was ready to pay the remaining amount myself. My only request was to power on the new laptop before giving the OTP, just to make sure it wasn't DOA or defective.

They refused and said that under Open Box Delivery I was only allowed to check for physical damage and accessories, not power on the laptop before sharing the OTP. During the discussion, I also felt that the staff's behavior towards me wasn't polite.

Since I wasn't comfortable accepting a ₹63k laptop without even checking if it powered on, I refused the delivery.

Now the app says the order may get cancelled because the exchange pickup failed, and I'm worried about the refund.

My questions are:

• If the order gets cancelled, will I get my refund back?

• Has anyone else faced a situation where Flipkart didn't allow them to power on the laptop during Open Box Delivery?

• What happened in your case?
