Got told i look old at work..how do you handle work comments ?

Today i (29F) was chatting to my colleagues(37F and 21F). The 37F asked the 21F if i had kids when i turned around ( we were both talking about lack of sleep). The 21F said no she is single no kids. Apparently the 37F student was suprised as i could hear them chatting i said what happend then the 21F said "she said she thought you had kids she thinks you look old". They both were giggling/laughing. I said to her (37F) oh really she then repeated i thought you had kids already with a big grin. Then said its my maturity/ act like an old person who knows everything. The 37F is a student and i helped supervise her for 1 quick task. Shes new.

It honestly upset me. Idk why but i was nothing short of polite to them. I literally still feel so bad and self conscious now that i am home. I didnt say anything and was nice back.

How do you deal with these sort of remarks?

How do you tell a roommate nicely to lower the music ?

Hi all i work night shifts and try to sleep during the day sometimes. I sometimes do days so a mix. I have struggled to sleep during nights due to my roommates music. The thing is hes upstairs and its not the audio that is visibly loud rather the beats / vibration of the music that radiates through the walls.

I have never said anything for almost 2 years as i worked days and was mostly not home but now i noticed it with my new shift pattern. I sent him a polite text asking if he can lower the music a tad and said thanks. I got no reply..

Am i being unreasonable ? How do i send a message this time ensuring i dont get ignored?

Long story short me and my ldr bf visited my elder sister. First guy shes known and met before once. I found her very rude and cold towards my bf. She did not smile once, made o eye contact and made 0 effort. She spoke to me quietly and my bf couldnt hear. She also excluded him and talked at me only. He was polite and respectful. He asked questions about her art to get to know her and i found her replies very vague, cold, and unbothered. At one point he asked her something to which she either blatently ignored or didnt hear but my poor bf looked to me. Her body language was totally off and she acted as hes not there. I cut the meeting short and said bye and she gave a forced"nice to meet" to him as we left. Before she mentioned feeling ill but said she was fine to hang.

It was very crazy uncomfortable and i felt awful for my poor bf. He is a lovely sweet guy and he still kept a postive note saying he appreciated meeting. I felt extremely awful as i could sense how cold and rude she was acting. I have always been polite to any person in her life i met. She has never had a bf and is single.

I am sad after the meeting and dont know what to do.
