I have only read book 1

As much as i loved reading it, is how much I hated it's ending, and it ruined all my reading experience

It shouldn't have been my first webnovel so i could have developed some immunity to endings i didn't like because I had very very high expectations from vol.8 and ending and my disappointment was immeasurable

After ending it, it felt like I was reading an axed novel and I know that there's book 2(although i didn't know till i finished book 1) but I couldn't care less as mc was not Klein

Recommend me if I have missed any which is considered great in this genre

I know there are quite a few of them that I need to catch up with but there's no problem with adding more to the library, is there?

It doesn't mean that I have never tried normal stories, but just that i didn't include them here

It's last chapter(qing wanglai's pov) really made me insane until I read it's explanation that it's not exactly the truth

My very short review -

Read for - Good plot, lovecraftian cthulu and whatever vibe, truly insane world, cultivation and mc, confusing and dark storyline, mysteries, morally grey mc

Don't read for - Aura farming, op mc, happy go lucky vibe, jade beauties and young masters, smart mc, too much expectations from hidden powers or identity

Btw this is darkest story setting I have read, I had heard of berserk in manga and this(dobi) and reverend insanity in novel, are they(berserk and ri) as dark as this one?

I'm talking about Seh x Wol ryeong (Sword spear candidate) arc for battle against gwak am

I liked grounded arcs more even after seh became immortal, like this one, flawless mantra arc, sun shooting etc.

I have read Rtoc, Lord of mysteries and villain's will to survive

4th one is nearing it's completion, i won't tell it's name to avoid any unexpected spoilers

Currently only 12 chapters on webtoon

First of all, i would like to mention that i have actually read it's manhua and really liked it and i heard that it's manhua is trash compared to it's novel, which interested me in it

So i started reading webnovel with lotm(as mystery in my favorite aspect in any story) and i actually downloaded ri along with it but i have still not started it because of it's length(yeah length scares me) and the fact that it's not completed

I ended up pushing it again and again, and now i am on my fourth webnovel which is "dao of bizarre immortal" after completing lord of mysteries, regressors tale of cultivation and villains will to survive

And the fact that i realised after completing them 4 and which also made me skeptic towards trying ri was that i actually like emotional moments(especially sacrifices, and these emotional moments require close and developed relations) most and emotional mc is more suitable for it plus i like seo eun who's polar opposite of fy from what i have heard

Idk about character of fang yuan much except that he's evil and some impression from manhua which was axed

Now i like evil mc's in manhwa/hua but i think the same might not be true for novels

So the crux of my question is, how's the character of fang yuan, does fang yuan aura farms (i liked klein aura farming moments in lotm), is it emotional (btw i didn't find lotm emotional except for end of vol.1 so i guess it's not that necessary even though it's something i like), and how many chapters should i give it to see whether it's for me or not

You can add any additional info. or something you think will be helpful, btw you don't need to add about it's story or worldbuilding or smart characters being good written as i have already heard them and that's the reason why i am still thinking of trying it

Yeah i am thinking of either "ri" or "i'm regressor and i have got stories to tell" as my 5th webnovel

With more screentime and serious arcs she might become my favourite(i don't have one) in action manhwa with male mc

Although penelope from villains are destined to die is my favourite among manhwa with female mc
