Is this a good laptop to pick in this economy?

I went to the physical store and the sales advisor said this one was the best.Anyone bought this before and had any issue with it?

Hey everyone, hoping to get some clarity on this.

I've been accepted into the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Hons) at Curtin University Malaysia in Miri.I'm originally from Johor,my mum and I both have Johorian ICs but my dad is Sarawakian, and because of that I do have the 'K' on my IC as well.

From what I've read, the FTES eligibility covers:
- Sarawakians with a 'K' in their IC, OR
- Malaysians with a Sarawakian parent (with 'K' in their IC)

So I believe I should qualify on both counts.Mechanical Engineering is also listed as one of the 19 approved programmes under FTES at Curtin Malaysia.

My main questions:

  1. Has anyone in a similar situation (mixed Sarawakian/non-Sarawakian family) successfully applied for FTES?
  2. I've heard there's limited availability for FTES at each university — is it first come first served, or is there a quota system?Should I be rushing my application?
  3. Any other things I should watch out for?

Hey everyone, hoping someone can clarify this for me.

I'm from Johor (Johorian IC) and I've been accepted into the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Hons) at Curtin University Malaysia in Miri. My mum is also Johorian, but my dad is Sarawakian and has a 'K' in his MyKad.

I've been looking into the Free Tertiary Education Scheme (FTES) and from what I found, the eligibility states:

"All Sarawakians with a 'K' in their IC, or Malaysians with a Sarawakian parent (with 'K' in their IC), are eligible for the FTES for their first undergraduate degree, provided they are not receiving any other educational sponsorship or scholarship."

So it seems like I might qualify through my dad? Mechanical Engineering is also listed as one of the 19 approved programmes at Curtin Malaysia under the scheme.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone been in a similar situation (non-Sarawakian student with a Sarawakian parent) and successfully applied for FTES?
  2. Is there anything else I should watch out for?
