[PC] I just released the Demo for my node-based factory game "Idle AI Factory" and need feedback on the pacing!

Game Title: Idle AI Factory

Playable Link: Idle AI Factory on Steam

Platform: PC (Windows, Mac, Linux)

Description: Idle AI Factory is an incremental automation game that strips away traditional base-building to focus entirely on the pure logic and satisfaction of node-based systems. In this game, your primary goal is to build an interconnected web of nodes, optimize production lines, and route resources efficiently to watch your numbers grow exponentially.

Instead of managing physical buildings or units, you are managing data and logic flows. As you progress, you'll face early-game scaling challenges, unlock powerful new upgrades, and figure out the most efficient network layouts to maximize your resource generation. The game is designed for fans of deep, systems-driven gameplay who love tweaking economies and hitting massive milestones.

Since getting the math and economy balance right is the hardest part of an incremental game, I am releasing this playable demo to gather your brutal feedback on the early-game pacing and the node-connection interface.

Free to Play Status: Demo

Involvement: I am Ahmed, the solo indie developer behind Kebreet Games. I am responsible for all aspects of the game's development, including game design, programming, and visual arts.

Stripped away traditional base-building to focus purely on node logic and numbers. The demo for my automation game is finally live!

Hey everyone, this is Idle AI Factory. I wanted to make an incremental game that focuses entirely on optimizing node layouts and scaling production lines.

I just released a free demo on Steam today to gather feedback before Next Fest. If you're a fan of automation games and watching numbers go up exponentially, I'd love for you to try it out!

Play the demo here: Idle AI Factory on Steam

Any feedback on the UI or balancing is highly appreciated!

Hey everyone,

I’m the solo dev behind Idle AI Factory, a game focused on building machine intelligence through complex economic loops, system simulation, and node-based automation.

The official playable demo is coming to Steam very soon, but before I lock everything in, I’ve uploaded an early pre-demo build to Itch.io. I’ve been staring at the code for too long and really need some fresh eyes to help me test a few specific things:

  • Pacing & Balance: Does the progression feel right? Are the thermodynamic mechanics and automation loops too slow, too fast, or hitting the right sweet spot?
  • Bug Hunting: This is an early test build, so if you manage to break the game, I want to know about it!

If you are a fan of incremental and automation games, I would be incredibly grateful if you gave it a quick spin and let me know your honest thoughts in the comments.

🎮 Play the Pre-Demo here: itch demo

If you enjoy the concept and want to play the polished version when it drops soon, a Wishlist would mean the world to me! ⭐ Wishlist on Steam: Steam page

Thanks so much for your time and feedback!

I’ve been working on a prototype for a roguelite deck-builder that swaps out the usual fantasy tropes for the world of stand-up comedy.

The Core Loop:

Combat: You’re on stage. The audience members are the "enemies" with different resistances (e.g., a Corporate Crowd hates "Edgy" jokes but loves "Observational" ones).

The Deck: You play cards to land punchlines and build "Momentum."

Health: Your HP is your Ego. If you bomb too hard, your Ego hits zero and the run ends.

My question for you: Does the "Comedy" theme feel like it fits the Deck-builder genre, or does it feel too "niche"? Would you find the struggle of a comedian a compelling enough "dungeon"?

Localization Strategy: Demo vs. Full Release?

I’m currently preparing my demo for an upcoming festival, and I’m hitting a bit of a crossroads regarding localization. I’m wondering if it’s worth the time and effort to translate the demo now, or if I should focus entirely on the core English experience and save localization for the full release (or a later demo update).

On one hand, localizing the demo could help reach a much broader audience during the event and potentially boost wishlists in non-English speaking regions. On the other hand, the demo is still evolving, and every time I change a line of dialogue or a UI element, I’d have to update multiple languages, which feels like a massive time sink for a solo dev.

Specifically, I'm weighing:

  • Steam Visibility: Does having multiple languages supported on the demo store page significantly impact the algorithm or "Discovery Queue" during festivals?
  • Player Feedback: Is it better to have a polished English-only demo, or a localized demo that might have rougher translations?
  • Maintenance: For those of you who localized your demos early, did you find the "maintenance tax" of updating strings worth the payoff?

Should I stick to English for the initial demo launch and see where the interest comes from, or is localization a "must-have" to stand out in today's market?

Would love to hear from anyone who has gone through a Steam Next Fest or similar event. What was your experience?
