Chicken with pesto?

Trying to cook some meals in bulk for the week and was looking at pesto pasta. I know traditionally it's not served with meat, at the very least not added directly into the pasta itself, but for nutrition and convenience it's something that I'd like to do.

With that being said, how would I season the chicken? Just salt and pepper? Italian? If there's any seasoning for meat that anyone has found goes well with pesto, please let me know!

Oh also, for the cut of chicken, I'm thinking of going with breast (despite preferring thighs in general) because I feel like a leaner cut of meat would work better here. If anyone believes the opposite is true, please let me know as well.

Thank you!!

I need your help gaslighting myself (LN SPOILERS)

Hi everyone,

I have a bit of an odd request - I need y'alls help in gaslighting myself into undermining how big the spoiler I just learned about is LOL, or at least helping me cope with it.

I'm a huge Mushoku fan but I've been anime only since the beginning, and unfortunately (BIG LN SPOILERS), I just spoiled myself on hitogami, and how he's been using Rudy the whole time and basically coerces him into dealing with Orsted by threatening to kill all of his loved ones. I've always been wary of Hitogami, as I feel like the author intentionally gives him an untrustworthy vibe, but I'm still a little bummed out about getting spoiled. Even if it's somewhat foreseeable, I feel like watching that scene where Rudy faces that situation would've hit hard as a fan, and now that's kinda just gone :/

I know I joked by saying I need your help undermining how big the spoiler is, but uh yeah idk that's pretty big LOL. I guess I just want reassurance that there's still a lot in the series to look forward to, and that there are a lot of important details that I may be missing that will still be really cool to see play out in the anime.

Thank you!

Does anyone have any recipes/methods to mask or neutralize the lack of quality and freshness in frozen Salmon?

Unfortunately I just can't justify spending so much on higher quality fresh salmon (especially where I live where fish is more expensive in general), which leaves me with frozen as the only option. That being said, I always hate how frozen Salmon turns out when you cook it traditionally by pan-searing or roasting, even when cooked well. Which is why I'd like to ask, does anyone have any ways that they like to prepare frozen salmon (or any frozen fish, for that matter) in particular? Methods that reduce the importance of freshness when it comes to the final product, like cubing and cooking to a higher doneness with various sauces, or something like that.

Would love to know from all of you, thank you!

Forehand spacing isn't improving

I've been playing for about two summers now and while I've improved significantly, I feel as if I haven't improved much in arguably the most important aspect, which is spacing. Even if my actual stroke mechanics have improved, none of that matters if I'm making contact too late/early, or just not in the right spot on the horizontal axis.

A lot of people say that this will naturally get better over time as I see more balls and my body "learns" the best places to be, but it's just not happening :/

I did notice some improvement in this regard when I really started to drill in the split step and having an explosive first movement, but it still feels like I'm terrible at gauging where to be, and when to start my stroke.

Does anyone have any tips that could help with this issue? Sometimes I'm loading in a position where the ball isn't even close to reaching (on both axises) lol

Thank you all as always!

Where to toss when serving with a continental grip?

I've posted earlier about switching from a forehand grip + waiters tray serve to a continental grip + *trying* to lead with edge serve, and I've realized that the toss may be one of the reasons I'm struggling. Before I could just toss anywhere that was somewhat directly in front of me to to my right, and I'd just aim the open racket face at the ball and somehow get the ball in (with very little pace).

However, when trying to serve with the correct fundamentals, this no longer works as the movement is far quicker, and I can't really direct the face to the ball, as it only opens up briefly before contact.

Can someone please provide me some advice as to where to toss on each axis? How much to my right? How high up? How far forward? (I'm a righty btw)

Thank you all so much!

What are the best core exercises for explosiveness and overall athletic performance?

I play a lot of different sports during the summer (basketball, tennis, soccer) and I feel like my core is really holding me back athletically. It's as if I can feel my power and energy transfer during athletic movements getting stuck or slowing down throughout the kinetic chain, and I'm almost certain this has to do with a very under-developed/weak core.

Could someone please recommend the absolute best core workouts to raise my overall athletic performance? I understand that the core consists of various muscles but let's just assume all of them are weak.

Exercises using medicine balls, ab wheels, and dumbbells are also welcome.

Thank you!!

Please recommend me a 7-9 cup food processor primarily for making Pesto

Hi all,

I hope everyone here is having a wonderful day. I just had a quick question, with prime week going on, I thought it was finally time to buy a food processor. I'm primarily using it for pesto and other spreads, as I prefer to do most prep work with my knife. This being the case, I'm looking for a food processor that's pretty modest in size, so it doesn't take up too much space (I'm thinking between 7 and 9 cups).

I know that Cuisinart is often recommended when it comes to food processors, but after having done some research and looking at rankings by ATK and Serious Eats, it seems that the 8 cup model (8 cup elemental) isn't very highly rated, and that the 7 cup Kitchenaid model (the contour silver version) was actually getting more praise.

If anyone has any experience with food processors in this size, for this primary use case, I'd appreciate it if you could weigh in and recommend me what you think would be best. My budget is $120 ish Canadian dollars, so roughly $85 USD.

Thank you!

Did I troll by buying rarity collection V for my friend as a gift?

I posted yesterday regarding potential gifts for my friend who's a fan of YuGiOh, and when I was at the card shop I just made an impulse decision to buy the rarity collection 5 booster box. I had already read threads of some people calling it disappointing, but it wasn't until I really started doing research to see that the overwhelming opinion is that the set sucks...

I'd hate for it to be a gift that he doesn't enjoy and just wanted some input from everyone here on what you think of it as a gift

Thank you!

Purchasing a gift for my friend

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the best subreddit to post in but I was looking for some advice regarding a gift for my friend. He's a big fan of Yugioh but he doesn't actually play the TCG competitively. I'd want to get something that an average fan/collector would appreciate. Budget is $100 USD, thanks!

Not fat but stomach area feels like it's weighing me down during vertical jump?

Hello everyone,

Just had a quick question - I've been following KOTG's philosophy for increasing my vertical jump and while I'm experiencing progress, there's one issue that I haven't seen any improvements in at all, and that's the feeling of a heavy weight in my stomach/torso that's weighing me down like an anchor. I'm 5'10 145 pounds with pretty low body fat, so I'm really confused as to why this is the case. I'm assuming it has to do with poor abdominal strength or something, but if anyone could offer some advice I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you!

My legs are confused during the serve

Beginner player trying to figure out how to properly utilize the kinetic chain while doing a flat serve, and while I've made solid progress in terms of achieving the cartwheel effect/racket drop occur using my leg drive and torso + shoulder rotation, I'm falling flat in everything that comes after.

Specifically, right after I push off my loaded leg and the cartwheel effect takes place, I feel like I prematurely put my weight on my front leg and the entire swing ends up being weak and premature. When I see people with fundamentally sound serves, it looks like their upper body is doing a lot within the time window of leg unloading to landing, while for me it's like back leg unloads > brief swing > immediately place weight on my left (front) foot. I'm also barely generating any momentum, and the overall motion seems to look like a regular standing overhead despite the fact that I'm involving so many more different muscles and movements.

I know that this is hard to diagnose without a video, but if anyone has any idea of what may be going on and how to fix it, I would be tremendously grateful if you could guide me.

Thank you!

Leg drive in the 2HBH/closed stance FH

Hello everyone,

First of all I'd like to once again thank everyone here for all of the advice I've been receiving over the past few weeks as a beginner in tennis. As a result of some of that advice, the forehand kinetic chain FINALLY clicked for me, especially the leg drive. I'm finally able to generate a lot of force and power which results in my racket lagging and whipping forward as a result of the kinetic chain being activated.

With that being said, I wanted to know how does the leg drive work for the 2HBH and closed stance FH? The rotation on the open stance FH is achieved through that angular push of my outside loaded leg, but this doesn't translate to the other two stances. As of now, I'm treating them like a left-handed baseball swing for the 2HBH where I step in and instantly uncoil my body soon after, and treating the closed stance, step-in forehand like a punch, where I do something similar but with the left foot instead. In both instances my body rotates a lot, but I'm not really feeling the contribution from my legs, at least not in the way I do on the open stance FH.

Do these strokes just not require that aggressive push into the ground? Or do they and I'm just not sure how to do it?

If someone could explain I'd be really grateful, thank you!

Been playing on and off for a year and I still don't know how to split step

I've tried. I've read an entire damn essay on the MyTennisHQ website, I've watched several videos, I've tried implementing in game, but despite it at all I just CAN'T make it work. I literally feel like I'm more reactive with no split-step because I can't do it right. My timing is off, my explosion after landing is off, everything is just bad.

I'm used to having active feet having grown up playing both basketball and soccer but something about the anticipation and timing requirements of the split step are just really hard for me to get down.

Does anyone have any tips? I know I'm supposed to be off the ground as my opponent makes contact, but I still find myself hopping too early or late most times.

Thank you

Question regarding serve weight transfer

Hello everyone,

Finally starting to work on my serve after spending so much time on groundstrokes and one of the things I'm kind of confused on is the weight transfer.

As of right now when I finish my rocking motion, I have I'd say 65ish% on my back leg, and the rest of my front. As I push off my back leg and rotate my hips while my I go upwards, I feel like my weight goes fully on my front leg pretty early, and from everything I've read, probably too early? I already have all of my weight on the front leg by the time the actual swing comes out.

It's similar to a step in forehand/backhand, where I put all of the weight on the front leg before I really get into the swing. I've been trying to work on making the weight transfer happen later but I'm finding it difficult.

Can someone first tell me if what I'm doing is wrong, and if it is, could you give me some tips on how to do it the right way?

Thank you!

How to keep racket face in check during loop/takeback?

I watched a video back and I've seen that my racket face is going all over the place during my loop. When I successfully pat the dog and have my racket face facing downwards until the forward phase I generate a lot of lag and hit the ball with a lot of power, but there are times where it opens up way too early, sometimes its opening up during the takeback itself.

How do I control it so it stays facing down until the forward phase?

Thank you!

Stability oriented tennis shoes that still feel somewhat light?

As someone who's very prone to rolling their ankle (and who doesn't want to wear an ankle brace), it's pretty much a requirement that my shoes in whichever sport I'm playing have stability and ankle support as a key feature. Unfortunately however, these shoes are also often on the heavy/bulky side. I was wondering if there were any options in tennis that provide that much needed support while still being pretty light? I was looking at the Asics Court FF and Mizuno enforce tour line, but if there's any other recommendations that people have I would love to hear them.

Thank you!

How long does it take to become "moderately flexible/mobile"?

As someone who's not flexible at all, and is tight all over, I have no plans on ever being able to do the splits or any other "impressive" feat of flexibility. I just want to hit what would otherwise be average, at the very least I want to stop feeling so stiff and locked. I can't sit cross legged, I have forward head posture and rounded shoulders, APT, basically everything that a guy who sits at his desk a lot while ignoring flexibility and mobility for his whole life would suffer from. I play sports often and go the gym, but just never do any mobility work.

If I were to start consistently incorporating static and dynamic stretching into my week, how long would it take for my body to open up? I know everyone's different, but I've seen multiple comments saying that this process could take many years. Is that really true? Just to get to "normal"?

I'd love to hear everyone's personal experiences regarding their progress and growth, and any tips they have to share that have helped them on their journey.

Thank you!!

Best backpack style tennis bag for under $75?

Currently using a regular ol' cheap adidas alliance bag, but I'm looking to get something that has more compartments and a dedicated area for just rackets. In terms of tennis rackets, I like the regular backpack looking ones a lot more than the long tennis-y looking ones, and wanted to know if someone could recommend the best one under $75 USD. I'm currently looking at the Yonex team bag but I've heard a lot of Yonex models have poor zippers.

Thank you!
