Please review my SIPs

Age: 34

Risk appetite: moderate - high

Horizon: 15 years

Goal: Retirement + kids education

I already have been into mutual funds for 8 years with a corpus of 30L, but I want to restructure my portfolio to have a proper diversification and maximum returns that beat the market. I've added the image with my new portfolio now. The 30L corpus will be moved into these funds but on a timely basis in installments to avoid LTCG

Also please suggest how the % allocation of my current corpus should be into these funds?

Is term insurance required if my wife is not working?

I'm 34M and wife is 32. We are planning for kids.

I'm planning to take term insurance and I have seen spouse cover options in many insurance companies. My wife is a home maker. Should I go for joint spouse cover?

28-weeker post-PDA ligation with new brain scan findings (Thrombosis, Thalamic Focus, PVWM Echogenicity). Looking for hope, advice, or similar experiences.

Hi everyone,

We are beyond devastated right now and feeling completely helpless. Our baby girl was born at 28w+2d, and today she is 31w+2d. She has already fought through so much: RDS, congenital pneumonia, a pulmonary hemorrhage, and a 4mm PDA. She just had her PDA ligation a couple of days ago and is slowly recovering from the surgery.

Before her heart surgery, her brain scans were completely normal. This gave us so much hope for her future quality of life. However, her neurosonogram today showed new issues, and we are spiraling:

Tiny 3mm echogenic focus in the left thalamus: The report says this likely represents a small hemorrhagic focus (a tiny bleed).

Suspicion of Dural Venous Sinus Thrombosis: The scan showed a prominent superior sagittal sinus with absent color Doppler flow, and an echogenic lesion near the straight sinus, suspicious for a clot.

Diffuse bilateral increased periventricular white matter (PVWM) echogenicity: The report notes this could reflect evolving white matter injury or congestion, and recommends a follow-up scan.

The doctors mentioned that these findings mean her motor skills could be impacted. We don't fully understand the long-term impact of all these terms yet, and seeing this report after her scans were previously clear is breaking our hearts.

Has anyone else gone through similar brain scan findings or sinus thrombosis with their preemie? What was the outcome, or how did it evolve? Any advice on how to navigate this or questions we should be asking her medical team would mean the world to us. Thank you.

So I have a chance to FIRE?

I have been investing 18k SIP(started with 10k initially) in MFs for about 8 years. Total corpus is just 34L. I work in IT, and I don't know how the future holds. I'm married.

I'm inspired by this sub, and I want to generate a corpus in the next 10 years that can help me retire early. Please suggest if there is any hope for me to achieve this? If so, what can I do from now?

Cervical polyp of 3.2 cms found during 2nd trimester

My wife is 23 weeks pregnant. In the cervix scan, it is found that there is a 3.2 cm cervical polyp which apparently is large. The doctor asked to get the polypectomy done and get it removed as it might result in complications in the further stages of pregnancy. She's really scared and isn't ready to get the procedure done but the doctor did advise to consider getting it done. I'm super worried. Has anyone been through something similar ?
