Do I have to "Keep up with the Joneses" on AI or is there a way to stay sane?
I'm dreading another upcoming reaming by the President of my company and their inner circle of AI evangelists. The bi-monthly chest thumping is more about non-technical leaders yelling about why what they see on their LinkedIn feed isn't being done at our company.
How are y'all holding the line on reasonableness without flying off the handle these days?
We're using AI as one of several automation opportunities to improve productivity across the CFO org, under the spirit that AI is not the right solution for every problem. Apparently, it's not enough.
One of the demands is for AI generated board decks with immediate delivery and a built in digital CFO to chat with about results. I haven't been impressed with the consistency or accuracy from the LLMs enough to think that's not a HORRIBLE idea, especially for a publicly traded company.
Have y'all copitulated on this, or are you successfully holding back the flood of AI influencers, hollow vendor promises, etc.?
Please send help.
