Help me understand why I'm receiving a bill soon after activating

I signed up three lines for $135 on June 30th so I got that 50% off deal. I only activated my line on July 2nd; the other two lines are activated July 3rd.

Why do I have this bill for 1 line that will be auto-paid on July 13? I read the "understand your bill" part but I don't understand it. Why am I being charged for a full month and just for 1 line?

I plan on going overseas for several months. Will Google really cut my service if I data roam for more than 90 days?

I know in the terms of service it states that Google Fi is supposed to be predominantly used in the US. I just recently became a new customer, porting my number from T-Mobile. In a few days I'll be traveling overseas and will be there for several months, definitely much longer than 90 days.

I just recently learned that T-Mobile also had a similar term of service saying they would cut my data if I roamed longer than 60 days. I had no idea about this, but I was actually able to data roam for 2 years with no issue.

So my question is, has anyone here had experience with living outside the the US and using Google Fi for long periods of time?

Question for the tech experts here

So I know Google Fi operates on T-Mobile towers, and gets the same priority as postpaid TM plans. Checking out Google Fi’s website, if you scroll down to, “plans,” and then click on, “see full plan details,” then scroll down to, “broadband facts,” then scroll down to, “typical download/upload speeds,” why are those speeds significantly lower than postpaid T-Mobile, prepaid T-Mobile, and even some Metro plans? If Google Fi plans truly are QCI 6, why aren’t the typical download/upload speeds the same as the one’s mentioned above on the broadband facts section?

Half off promotion question

I saw the promo to switch to Google Fi and bring your own pixel for half off your bill. I signed up but didn't see the promo applied and when I inquired I was told because I got my phone from Google that it wouldn't count for me. I read the terms and nowhere does it say I was ineligible. Does this seem correct to everyone? I'm still saving a lot by switching but that extra half off is an insanely good deal.

To be clear I did not buy my phone from Google Fi, I got it from the Google store last year while I was still on T-Mobile

Excellent in Italy!

Am using on a Moto signature... As soon as I fixed the APN (which is a bit confusing on moto phones, have to put in airplane mode before it being able to select)... Impressive speeds.

Switching for pixel phones, a different variety and one iPhone two Google fi

I'm one of the people that's on the boat of T-Mobile switching their plans. I have magenta Max and it looks like I want to experience more TI, I'm waiting till after the 13th to see how things shake out.

But I'm thinking about the Google fi unlimited which would still save me about $75 a month even with five phones.

My main question is we have two pixel 10 pro oneza 10 pro XL. We have one pixel 7 and we have one pixel 9 pro XL. My question is since Google fi has no deprioritization and has the same access as a normal T-Mobile postpaid plan like the magenta Max did that means we would still get 5G UC on say to pixel 10 pro. So if your phone is compatible with 5G ultra capacity, you should still get 5Go to capacity and standalone 5G. Is that correct.

Just doing my research before I fully commit to switching.

I know I can do a 7-day free trial which I could use my other Google account and not my main one.

I just want to do some research from people who already swayed or who are using Google fi that were from T-Mobile or similar phones and see their experience. Thank you

Ease of switching phones with eSIM?

Back in the day, you could switch phones as frequently as you wanted, just by popping your SIM card out of one and into another.

How does that work with eSIMs?

I have a Galaxy S25, and considering picking up a used Galaxy S Flip to use for a "fun phone".

Can I have my eSIM on multiple phones without causing issues?

How is your performance on Fi with data?

Long story short - Been an AT&T customer for 20+ year, their service started to suck and switched to Google Fi. Been on it for a year now and love the ease of use and data only sims. However I noticed that in most place's I get LTE instead of 5G. I do have 5G roaming enabled. Anybody else have this experience. I can be on my work Verizon phone and it has 5G while my Fi is on LTE. I have the highest ultimate plan on Fi if that helps.

Is support always this terrible?

For context I ordered a Pixel 10 pro last week, and it was supposed to arrive yesterday. In the morning I got a notification that the shipment was undeliverable and that I should reach out for a refund. UPS tracking clearly stated the box was found empty when it arrived in my city and was discarded, I figured it would be a quick easy situation to resolve.

When I called yesterday the rep said it was being returned to sender (not true) and I should wait 24 hours.

Today, it took 45 minutes on the phone and multiple escalations but I finally seemed to have the order refunded, and the rep said they would be issuing a replacement. But then I got this email which just contains a bunch of contradictory information, including that my refund is both being processed and not being processed. It seems like it was just AI generated nonsense.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? At this point im having reservations about even ordering a replacement phone.

what is the total monthly cost for unlimited essentials

i understand this plan is $60 for 2 lines. i chatted with support about the actual total monthly cost after fees and and taxes in san francisco before i decide to switch from Tmobile given the recent price increase.

the chat agent, however, told me they do not have that information. seriously, how do they not know the fees and taxes in SF?

i do not wish to sign up for a $60 plan and end up getting a bill for $90+ with fees and taxes. this is a simple a straigh forward question and i am very very surprised they refused to provide that information for potential customers.

can anyone in SF with the unlimited essentials plan share the monthly cost (fees and taxes)???

50% off how often?

Leaving TMobile because they changed my "for life" pricing. Just started researching a couple days ago and missed out on the 50% off the first year pricing. We have 5 lines so it's a big savings. Is it worth waiting around for the next deal? How long might I have to wait? Are they common or is it a once a year kinda thing?

Charged $175.82 for an unactivated, numberless 4th line (Zero usage) — Need escalation help

Hi everyone,

Looking to get a Reddit Request or high-level support eyes on a clear billing error. My support Case ID is 2-9236000041348.

Back in April, I accidentally added my secondary email address to my Google Fi account while trying to manage a Google One storage plan. I didn't realize it generated a 4th line slot on my Fi plan and I have been billed a total of $175.82 for it over the last 3.5 months.

To be absolutely clear:

  • This line never had a phone number assigned to it.
  • There was never a device activated on it.
  • There was zero data, talk, or text usage because the line physically did not exist in a usable state.

I just discovered the charges today and spoke with a Senior Support Specialist. They had me manually remove the member/email from my account to stop future billing, but completely stonewalled me on a refund or bill credit for the $175.82, citing "policy."

Support openly acknowledged that the line was never activated or used, but refused to credit me back for services that were never provisioned or delivered. The case was allegedly escalated to a supervisor, but I was told they use the exact same billing tools and will likely give the same automated denial.

Can a representative here please help override this? Charging nearly $180 for a completely un-provisioned line with zero usage feels entirely wrong.

Thank you.

Would I lose the 50%/12 months if I convert from pSIM to eSIM for a new phone?

Both old and new phones are factory unlocked. New phone would only have one physical SIM slot and that would be used with a second phone number I have with another service.

Starting to see google as desperate.

I ordered a 30 day package from either Googlefi or Amazon for a unlocked phone I got from Amazon. Ok, now 30 days means 30 day. It wasn't a whole month yet and Googlefi pulled the plug.

I was playing Raven 2 and went to bed only to wake up finding out my phone had no service when I tried calling my son and his wife.

Contacted googlefi shortly after to cancle the service that they had pulled the plug on for no reason.

Now they are trying to charge me $17.30 for their mistake.....

Word from Google on current WiFi issue?

I'm deeply disappointed by Google's response to the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth failure on my device. Despite multiple contacts, support refuses to help because it’s past the warranty period, offering nothing but a referral to a third-party repair shop. Google is well aware of this hardware defect but is dodging responsibility. Has anyone found a way past the standard customer service wall?

Has anyone successfully managed to get their case escalated or received a replacement?

Let's discuss

Offers

Just wondering if anyone else received this offer? Thinking about grabbing it but also rather wait. What is your opinion. Don't need it still enjoying my pixel 8 256gbs.
