Am I tripping?

Do I just have a sensitive nose or do certain buildings (DC, certain areas of E7, certain floors of DP) smell like BO/have an unpleasant odor? I always worry it's coming from me but when I leave these areas the smell is completely gone. I shower daily + use deodorant religiously and don't smell anything when I smell my own clothes/body. Are people here so stank that the smell clings to the building? When I've asked my friends they've said they don't smell anything in these areas, I do get overstimulated easily so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a quirk of my senses.

Unsure of what to do with hair routine

Pics attached show hair from short to long

My hair seems to be wavier when short and straighter when long. I do not use any product and I shampoo once a week and condition daily. It’s straighter on the day I shampoo and it gets wavier the longer I go without shampooing.

Most of the hair advice I see for wavy hair says to use an old t-shirt or microfiber cloth to towel dry it by patting and scrunching it but this just makes it weirdly straight and flat for me. Sea salt spray doesn’t give it much volume either.

I’ve found that the best way to style it is to cut it short and just towel dry it normally, which makes it kinda textured and kinda frizzy, and then just shape it into a messy quiff kinda style. This reliably gives it volume. Obviously it’s frizzy, but that’s not a huge deal. It’s just that using product like hair spray or gel kind of ruins this, and so I can’t add hold to defend against wind.

Ideally, I would like my waves to be more defined and have more volume if possible with my hair type. Additionally I’m worried about hair loss because of towel drying seems to cause a decent amount of breakage.

Feel terribly guilty

This isn’t a romantic relationship but someone I’m extremely extremely close to. She told me about something absolutely horrible she went through a long time ago and I noticed an inconsistency for which there was a pretty simple innocent explanation. But during a severe anxiety spiral I briefly questioned whether she had lied to me about it. I hope the thoughts were intrusive because they caused me anxiety and I didn’t want them to be true but I’m terrified. I feel so deeply guilty and my moral OCD makes me want to confess but I don’t want to hurt her or lose her because I know hearing this would be so painful.

Feel so terrible at my internship

I’m an engineering student in the US that just finished freshman year. I started an internship at a startup recently and I feel so stupid and overwhelmed everyday. It doesn’t help that the company moves super fast and has some of the smartest people I’ve ever met. Some of the solutions and technology I’ve seen here are just mind boggling. I feel like I scammed my way here even if I did nothing wrong.

I feel like crying almost everyday at work and I’m anxious almost constantly. It’s like I can get absolutely nothing right. I come up with the dumbest shit that makes no sense, I get that I’m young but I legitimately ask the stupidest questions that betray a complete lack of common sense and intelligence. I try to do shit on my own and have agency but it’s like I completely fuck up if I’m not handheld and so my manager ends up walking me through anyway. I feel like he regrets hiring me even if he doesn’t show it and I completely understand.

I genuinely have no clue how I got this role, I did pretty okay in the technical interview I guess but it feels like none of that transferred over. I feel like a complete fraud. Idk what to do man. I genuinely feel like I’m too stupid for engineering.

How do I cope with being a loser (19M)

I’m a 19 yr old autistic loser with ADHD and OCD asw. I got bullied throughout schooling and it was at its worst in middle school. My home life was also pretty shit.

I guess as a result of all of this, I’m basically completely dysfunctional socially now. I can feign being normal in professional and academic environments somewhat but people always end up being able to tell.

I have 3 very close friends but none of them live near me anymore, and even though they do love me a lot, they clearly are less engaged than I am when we talk online because they have lives outside of me. I don’t blame them at all because it’s not my fault I’m incredibly clingy, but it hurts. Even the friend I talk to the most nowadays isn’t as clingy to me as I am to her.

I basically attach my self worth entirely to my competence because it’s all I have. I somehow managed to land an internship at a top startup as a first year engineering student, and working here is absolutely brutal for me because I feel like an absolute idiot everyday on top of the fact that I’m also socially inept compared to my colleagues. I thought this kind of environment would somewhat reduce my social struggles but I’m still a loser amongst a bunch of fellow nerds.

The same thing happened in university, everyone I met was normal despite the fact I go to a school stereotyped as being full of reclusive techbros. The only difference is that in these environments, my technical competence is either below average or average and I can’t fall back on it to feel somewhat good about myself.

Honestly for a bit I thought it might be due to external characteristics, but after improving my general social skills and my appearance to stop looking like a skinny nerd I’ve realized it’s completely internal. I still despise how skinny I am though, and I hate myself so much at the gym looking at everyone else that I can never stay consistent.

It just pains me knowing that I fit in absolutely fucking nowhere. I wish I could find a place to meet people like me but it feels fucking impossible. Legitimately I get on the verge of tears multiple times a day just seeing normal people be normal in public.

The only other recluses I have met have all treated me like complete shit and were generally terrible friends. It hurts seeing normal people act so normal. I think it is pretty much set in stone that I will die alone, but honestly that is the least of my concerns. I just wish I could make friends like a normal person. I don’t know how to cope with being a defective person.

Family doesn’t understand how sublets work

This is my first co-op and I’m signing a sublet agreement rn, I’ve never done this before fyi. The co-op is way too far from me to go to the sublet in person.

From my understanding, the way a sublet works is that the landlord gives the tenant permission, and then the sub tenant and tenant sign a sublease agreement. Then, the sub tenant pays the tenant and the tenant pays the landlord.

My family is insisting this is not how it works and that I should be paying the landlord directly, and that paying the tenant implies that they are trying to violate the terms of their lease by not informing the landlord about the sublet.

Because I’m very far from the sublet I need to pay the deposit electronically, but they are saying that what I should do is get the landlord’s contact details and then ask a family friend to go and hand over a cheque in person directly to the landlord, because supposedly if I get scammed then a cheque will allow me to go to court.

This seems incredibly strange to me and I don’t want to look like a weirdo asking for the landlord’s contact info and trying to arrange this. I honestly regret telling them about the sublet at all because they’re being incredibly forceful.

Does anyone have advice on how I can convince them that this is not how sublets work? Again, I’m not paying the deposit with my own money so like I can’t just really go ahead with it without making them mad, as much as I’d like to.

I know this is a terrible habit so I’ll never do it again purely because of the stress it caused me, but I skipped every single lecture this term and covered the entire course in 4 days (2 days to revise pre mid-term content) and got a 95 on my final. I remember walking home at 3 AM before the exam thinking I was completely fucked and that I had pushed it too far this time. I typically do procrastinate a lot, but it’s rare I cut it this close. Although I was fortunate, I’m not willing to test my luck again.
