Proof of Citizenship - minor - identification issue

I have been trying since last December to submit my son’s proof of citizenship application. I have gotten the same error message back each time. It seems to be an issue with the picture of his ID. I (his mother) am Canadian and his maternal grandmother is Canadian. This isn’t an issue about whether he’s eligible. It’s just an ongoing ID problem. Has anyone else faced this issue and how did you resolve it? Thank you!

Bad idea to visit during WebSummit?

My husband and I have been dying to visit Lisbon. We have a very narrow five day window we can come (11/9-13) However, we just discovered the same week as Web Summit.

From what I can tell online, it seems like a pretty massive conference, but I wanted to check here to see if that’s the case? Would we still be able to have an enjoyable visit or is it going to feel inundated and we won’t be able to enjoy it in the right way? Thanks?

CDMX: Ignacio Guest House, Casa Seis Siete, El Cortes, Dama or…

We are booking a (somewhat last minute) trip to CDMX and finding our dates in early November are particularly booked at hotels. Many spots on our list are already sold out (Brick, La Valise, Nima, etc).

Currently the short list are the ones in the title. I know el Cortes is new…

Any favorites among that list?

Also, with 5 nights best to do all 5 in Roma or maybe 3 Roma and 2 somewhere. If we do Polanca, Pug Seal Anatole? New Kimpton ? Las Alcobas sold out. Casa Polanca out of budget and Campos Polanca sold out (it’s the one that most appeals). Or maybe the ritz or st Regis for the last two nights.

Please help me narrow this down I’m losing my mind on too many hotel websites.

Clean/fresh food recommendations within 30 minutes or Ogunquit?

Love the area. Love the hotel so much. But the restaurants we’ve tried aren’t our thing. Seemingly the only vegetable that exists is Caesar salad. So much fried food. Menus are just so heavy.

Is there anywhere with lighter fresher food. We eat everything, all cuisines,
we aren’t looking for vegan or anything. Just stuff that doesn’t leave us feeling so crappy.

With all the gorgeous produce and seafood in the area, I imagine there must be something… thanks!

Help me solve a travel riddle?

I’m looking to take a trip in November - leaving from NY and only have 4 nights. I’m finding it’s a hard time of year because it’s not great weather in many places… Top of my bucket list but not great because of weather this time of year are Azores & Iceland.

This is a kid free trip for my husband and myself. Budget is pretty flexible but don’t want to travel for 12 hours since we only have 4 nights.

We don’t need warmth necessarily, just don’t want cold grey rain that makes doing things impossible. Any ideas for some beautiful nature exploring with a dose of culture too? Would prefer not to do a city trip. We are going to Grenada in Feb so would like something different from that…

A couple places we are discussing are Old San Juan PR and Cartagena. But would love some other ideas!

November trip - 4 nights, no kids, leaving from NYC. Relaxing but not an island…

Once a year my husband (a chef) and I (also hospitality) get away for a few nights without the kids. Looking for some ideas of where to go this November.

We had been thinking Mexico City but are feeling something a bit lower key.

Lisbon was also on the list but worried it’s a bit too far for the amount of time we have.

New Orleans? Montreal (with a night at Manoir Hovey)? Would even do a roadtrip to something amazing. If a flight, ideally not longer than 5 hours and want nonstop.

We are looking to unwind at the end of a very busy work season but don’t want to just sit on a beach (we’ll also be heading to Grenada with the kids in February). Open to a city trip or something more nature. Would love a more boutique hotel, excellent food and no interest in stuffy pretense.

Thanks for any ideas!

Score!

So excited to find these today for my kids at our local mom and pop toy store. Retail price. They also had gum drops, wild cats and some sparkly heart with words on it. Hopefully they like what I picked. Two per customer and had to make quick choices!

Food/culture focused trip ideas - not more than a 6(ish) hour flight from NY…

I’m looking for some suggestions for a 4-5 night trip for my husband and me in early November - leaving the kids behind. Departing from New York and hoping to keep the flight under six hours. Definitely nonstop. He’s a chef, we both work in food/hospitality. The focus would be a great hotel, food, culture - a trip that feels distinctly adult. Something like Mexico City but looking for some other ideas. Open to domestic or international. Would like a destination that has some beauty - we don’t need a hot weather, but we don’t want it to be so rainy or gross that we couldn’t spend the whole day just walking around.

Our current shortlist: Mexico City, Lisbon (airfare is $$$$), London (weather concerns), New Orleans, Savannah

What are we missing? Any favorite hotels in any of these spots?
