No email or personal info required for sign-up, just a username and password. You join or create a room, add tracks to your Playlist, and join the DJ queue (or just hang out), and everyone hears the same music in sync.

I missed this type of site, so I've been working on my own for a few months. I'm quite pleased with where it's at now. You can buy drinks on the dance floor, and other fun stuff like tomatoes or roses to throw at people. And of course, you can get drunk (water will sober you up if you find the visual effects annoying). Let me know what you think!

Mazurka Cafe, a social music sharing web app that allows you to throw tomatoes at each other

Among other things. If you remember plug.dj, Beatsense, turntable.fm, etc. then you know the drill.

If not, the idea is that you join a room or create your own, add tracks (currently only from YouTube) to your personal playlist(s), and join the DJ queue. Whenever your turn arrives, your music plays for everyone in the room in sync. Everything is free, registration is easy (email is optional), and the only rule is don't be a dick. Rooms are self-moderated by their creators.

One of my friend groups used to use plug.dj every Friday, then it died. There are some existing plug.dj alternatives, but I don't really like any of them. They monetize too aggressively, they're busted on mobile, or they're busted in general, etc. I've been a professional web developer for a decade, so I figured I'd give it a shot.

Mine is a bit unique in that the dance floor is very interactive. You can move around freely, customize your avatar, dance with other users, change the room visual theme (if you own the room or have permission), buy drinks and other fun things at the bar, shoot each other with water guns, and more.

No mobile app yet, but it's in the works.

Beta testing a social music sharing site à la plug.dj

Social music sharing sort of deal for those who never had the pleasure of using any of those. People queue up in rooms to take turns playing music for each other. I think I've nearly reached feature parity with plug.dj (the one I used the most back in the day). Plus some fun stuff I haven't seen elsewhere, like a more interactive dance floor.

A few sites like this exist already, but I find them all lacking in one way or another (aggressive monetization, busted on mobile, bad accessibility, etc), so here's my take on the idea.

Anyone can sign up (or look around as a guest) and create a room or poke into an existing one. Any feedback regarding UI/UX/anything really would be most appreciated!
