Whats one UX problem you’ve learned to tolerate because fixing it isnt considered ‘important enough’?

Sometimes i prioritize and move somethings back because i either dont have enough time or dont see value now. This creates big design debt for me over time. What things does everyone here deprioritize?

Building a design review tool, stuck on the part that decides what is worth showing

I’m building a tool around a simple problem: teams are shipping faster than ever, but it’s getting harder to catch experience problems before they reach users.

The idea isn’t to generate another generic “your button could have better contrast” report.
It is trying to find things like:

🔴 Breakpoints in a user journey — places where users are likely to get confused, stuck, or drop off
Accessibility issues that could prevent people from completing a task
💰 Potential revenue loss caused by experience breakpoints
📐 UX rules being broken — consistency, hierarchy, interaction patterns, etc.
🔄 Broken or unnecessarily complicated flows
🎯 High-impact problems vs. low-priority polish
📊 Business impact — not just “this is bad UX”, but why it matters to the product/business based on their business mission/ strategy

The part I’m wrestling with is deciding what the tool should actually surface.

There are potentially hundreds of things an automated design review could flag. But nobody wants a 47-page report full of tiny observations.
I want it to answer:
“What should I care about?”

For designers, product owners and design leaders — what would you actually want a tool like this to show you?

What would make you think, “I didn’t notice this, but this is important”?

Would love ideas, especially things beyond the usual UX/accessibility checklist.

Which product has the best onboarding you’ve experienced recently?

I’ve been trying a lot of new products lately, and it made me realize how much a good onboarding experience influences whether I stick around or uninstall after five minutes.
I’m curious, what product do you think has the best onboarding you’ve experienced recently?
It doesn’t have to be flashy. Even something simple that helped you understand the product quickly or made getting started feel effortless.

What made it standout

11 years in Data Engineering (Informatica + Databricks) – How tough is the Australian job market for newcomers?

My partner has 11 years of experience in data engineering, mainly working with Informatica, Databricks, SQL, ETL, data warehousing, and cloud data platforms. We’ll be moving to Australia soon with full work rights.

We’re trying to get a realistic picture of the market from people already working in the industry.

A few questions:
-How are opportunities for experienced data engineers who are new to Australia?
-Is local Australian experience a major barrier, or does strong overseas experience still carry weight?
-Which industries are hiring the most right now (banking, consulting, retail, government, etc.)?
-Which companies would you recommend keeping an eye on?

Any advice on recruiters, networking, resume tips, or things you wish you knew before applying would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance! Looking forward to hearing from people already working in the Australian data space. 😊

What’s something everyone pretends to like, but secretly doesn’t?

I was talking to a friend today and realized there are so many things people act like they love just because everyone else does.
What’s one thing you think people are just pretending to enjoy?
Could be food, hobbies, movies, social events… anything.
I’ll start: networking events. 😅

What’s one purchase under $100 that genuinely improved your life?

Not looking for anything expensive.
What’s something you bought for under $100 that you now use all the time or wish you’d bought sooner?
Could be for home, travel, work, health… literally anything.

Feel like its beginning of the end of the world

I don’t know how everyone is calm, dont you feel it like theres no way out? Theres ai evolution, wars, inflation, government breakdown everywhere. I feel like even if we try do hard, its still going to be an edge of the cliff. Nothing we do matters anymore.

Moving from Dubai to Melbourne with PR. Am I making the right decision?

My husband and I have Australian PR and are planning to move from Dubai to Melbourne. We built a comfortable life in Dubai over the last 5+ years, we own a home, we’re financially stable, and our careers are going well. The only downside is the work pressure and long hours, and we’re feeling burnt out.

I visited Melbourne recently and loved the nature, lifestyle, and overall quality of life. It feels like a place I’d enjoy living long-term.

However, I’m seeing a lot of mixed opinions online about rising taxes, the housing market, and people leaving Australia. Is social media making things seem worse than they are, or is it genuinely becoming difficult?

I’m also a Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) with no Australian work experience. How is the job market at the moment? Is the lack of local experience a major hurdle?

I’d really appreciate honest advice from people living in Melbourne. If you were in my position, would you still make the move today?
