NYCC 2026 Star Wars recap, and everything coming before the 50th
The Lucasfilm Publishing panel was Friday, and with Star Wars turning 50 next May, most of it was about the anniversary. Here’s everything in one place.

Dewback & Sandtrooper 2-Pack (Black Series): pre-order now at Walmart, in stores spring 2027. Fitting for the 50th, since dewbacks made their debut in Star Wars, filmed in the Tunisian desert.
Ahsoka – Escape from Thrawn (Marvel): story by Dave Filoni, written with Rodney Barnes. It’s Ezra’s escape from Peridea aboard the Chimaera, with Thrawn, Captain Enoch and the Nightsisters after him.
50th anniversary books:
a Visual Archive and a collector’s edition of the shooting script for Star Wars
a book by Kristin Baver where actors, astronauts and athletes talk about what the film changed for them
an Original Trilogy storyboards anniversary edition
a re-release of the Star Wars manga
a new Reign of the Empire novel by Fran Wilde
Starfighter books: The Art of Starfighter by Phil Szostak, an expanded novelization by Delilah Dawson, a Visual Dictionary by Pablo Hidalgo, a Marvel prequel series by Marc Guggenheim, plus books for kids and teens.
Princess of the Rebellion: a Leia YA novel by Claudia Gray.

Which one are you actually buying? Mine’s the Dewback, in theory. It’s a Walmart exclusive, and Walmart doesn’t ship to Tatooine, so it’ll have to wait for my next trip abroad.
