Bix drugged Cassian to enable her surprise departure

“I’m done, Bix.” Cassian says.
“Have your tea,” she responds, sliding a cup towards Cassian.

It’s always bothered me just a little that Bix leaves during the night and records a message without waking Cassian (who we would think may be somewhat of a light sleeper, always ready for action).

Cassian sleeps through the night (he seems a little surprised by this), and Bix clearly was planning this before he got back from Coruscant. If he wakes up while she’s leaving, he definitely resists and Bix may think she doesn’t have the strength to get through that argument. So she resorts to (lightly) drugging Cassian.

Maybe relevant, maybe not: Bix used drugs in the 3 BBY arc. Perhaps she knew the perfect dosage to keep Cassian asleep through the night without any risk of other damage?

Just a little something I noticed on my 8th (?) rewatch.

Also I appreciate Diego Luna’s nonverbal acting more every time I watch.

"Revolution is not for the sane"

Michael Corleone: "I saw an interesting thing happen today. A rebel was being arrested by the military police, and rather than be taken alive, he exploded a grenade he had hidden in his jacket. He killed himself, and took a captain of the command with him. Right Johnny?"

Johnny Ola: "Those rebels, you know, they're lunatics."

Michael: "Maybe so -- but it occurred to me. The soldiers are paid to fight -- the rebels aren't."

Hyman Roth: "What does that tell you?"

Michael: "They could win."

Edits: accuracy, don't trust IMDB quotes!

Is the Fondor Droid the biggest victim of the 5-seasons-to-2-seasons time compression?

This little fella had a persona in S1 (voiced by David W. Collins). Fondor Droid most notably assisted Luthen during the space fight in S1E11.

But in S2 this droid completely disappeared; we didn't hear its voice at all anymore and I'm not sure we even see it. Not gonna lie, the difference was kinda jarring.

Do you think they basically had to scrap the Fondor Droid when they compressed the series down to 2 seasons?

The geography of survival

A little British focused but looks at the heating world of the future from a human migration standpoint as more places become less and less tolerable for sustaining human life. Collapse related because we will have to think of entirely new ways for human civilization to cope, or that's the end of it, and as humans more and more need to move, physical realities are increasingly at odds with rising nationalism, closed-border and anti-migrant policymaking.

The age of asymmetry – the weak have learned how to make the strong bleed

Since Andor is so much about asymmetric warfare I thought this recent post fit here. Loaded with examples and passages that could have come from a line out of a scene with Luthen or Saw or Nemik.
