Your canon color for BD

Your canon color for BD

Alright we've all heard the debates about Cal's kyber crystal color. I want to see/hear your opinions on BDs color you always pick! Mine is yellow, I think it just fits his personality and ability to hack into all kinds of stuff.

Small idea: The Crossguard stance should have been focusing on parrying and faints rather then just being a twohanded weapon.

The crossguard has a side guard which is based on medieval swords. So it would have been made more sense to give the crossguard a more denfensive style and parrying instead of being a big and heavy greatsword. It also kinda ruins the advantages of a lightsaber being fast to use.

But what is your opinion?

Are yiou fine with the base idea of the crossguard or should have been functioned like a actual medieval sword?

How I think the different lightsabers should look, pt. 5

After a long hiatus, we're back with the Serenity saber. Much like Edgehawk, I view this one one as a mass produced weapon, but for elite Stormtroopers, hence the white blade. The primary is Stainless durasteel with 0 polish, the secondary is Matte Dark Iron with 0 polish, the accent is Electrum-plated with 0 polish and the grip is the same as the primary. Pristine condition, but I don't view this saber as a crossguard, but I included it for completion sake

An interesting little fact about the colour cyan.

I just discovered, by chance, that (based on the "RGB" color model, which is how our eyes perceive light) cyan is the scientific opposite of red.

In printing (particularly digital printing), cyan ink is used to negate red light, which it fully absorbs (or traps, if you prefer).

Cyan is also the perfect fusion of green and blue, which of course are both the signature colours of the Jedi.

I just thought someone might find this titbit interesting for roleplaying with a cyan saber. You could say that cyan completely embodies the Light Side of the Force.

Is the book THAT bad?

Seen a lot of hate towards the book “Battle Scars” and how it’s genuine ass. I bought it a couple days ago for ~10 bucks, but I’m having second thoughts on reading it now + I got other books to read.

For the Council

Tried out a new look and thought it was pretty cool, but my opinion isn't the one that matters lol. Does the council approve?

Bode's final, reckless actions contradict his primary goal.

That goal being to keep his daughter, Kata, safe.

Bode refuses Cal's reasonable offer point-blank and attacks.

Yes, it sucked for Bode that his plan didn't work, but Bode had seen first-hand how capable Cal and Merrin were as fighters. To attack them both and risk dying was the worst decision he could possibly have made for his daughter's welfare. Kata isn't going to be safe (from Bode's perspective) if she doesn't have a father. Any alternative is presumably preferable.

Bode also didn't question how Cal and Merrin reached Tanalorr without the compass. Just the fact that they were able to follow him potentially ruins his plans. He doesn't know at that point that others can't follow him, too. He should logically want (nay, need) an answer to how they did it before trying to destroy them.

So how (if at all) would you justify Bode making the rash, self-defeating decisions that he did?

After Cal's games, what are some other ways you'd like to see this combat engine used?

I think they've done a phenomenal job with the combat. Maybe we could get an Anakin/Obi-Wan Clone wars game? Luke building the new Jedi order? What ideas do you guys have for other characters/stories that would make good use of what Respawn has created?

The Naming Convention in Jedi Survivor is a Joke

Don't worry, this isn't a critical rant! I've been playing this game for a while now (and loving it), but every so often I'll see a name and something with nag at me. As I'm sure most of you know, Star Wars has a history of easter egg type names, like Cin Drallig for Nic Gillard's cameo jedi, or Senator Greblips (Spielberg backwards) for the "ET" alien. The other day I noticed that Korej Lim is an anagram of Joker ILM, so I decided to pull up a wiki page and see if I could spot any more easter eggs. That turned out to be a deep rabbit hole!

It seems like almost every other name in the game is some kind of joke, or reference. People sometimes talk about the obvious ones like Cere ("seer", the wise sage who looks ahead), greasy Greez, Bode (who bides his time), but I haven't seen the general idea of the many jokes discussed anywhere, so I wanted to post this here.

At this point, I've probably got about as far as I can get by myself, so I want to throw this out into the world and see what we can come up with! I'd love to know if anyone has any inside information, interviews, experience, etc that can confirm the things that need inside information, like "Garage Dan". But otherwise your thoughts on what names could be references to would be great. Hopefully this can be an interesting discussion!

Here's the list of my ideas so far. I've spoiler tagged this because discussing deeper meanings of character names can go that way.

In Jokes for Devs

Dagan Gera: "Garage Dan" - I like to think that during development for the game there was someone called Dan, who worked from home, in his garage.

Selfin Jook: "Self In Joke" - a reference to all the in jokes the team have made for themselves with these names.

Fenn Finau: "Fine for now" - maybe a placeholder that stuck

Anoth Estra: "Another Extra" - also almost an anagram of "North East" but that could be a coincidence, especially as they're found in the Southlands

Massi Fenau: "Messy for now" - perhaps chosen once Fenn Finau had stuck

Vaslyn Martz: "Vaseline Marks" - Maybe an effect they were working on ended up looking like vaseline marks on the camera? Or perhaps a reference to something in the office.

San Dressen: "Sans Dressing" - perhaps the way someone in the office orders their salad?

In Jokes for Players

Korej Lim: "Joker ILM" - it's a perfect anagram and I'm sure I've seen a black and white jester/joker head at the end of a Star Wars credits, but I can't find it anywhere.

Gatt Medo: "DOTT Game" DOTT is Day of the Tentacle, an old Lucasarts game.

Urghost: "Your Ghost" - spawns just after you kill Dagan, who does a bunch of ghostly stuff

Caij Vanda: "Cage Vendor" - she sends you after bounty hunters who want to capture you - she's selling cages.

Beetu Deetu: "B2-D2" - RD-D2 but a B2 Battle Droid

Corde the Half: A bit of a stretch, but possibly a reference to Cordé (Padmé’s decoy in Attack of the Clones). Half, just like she is half of a duo when impersonating the Queen.

Simple Word Play/Soundalikes

Meyen Corr: "My anchor"

Kili Oso: "Kill you so"

Kip Ostar: "K-Pop Star"

D-L1T: "Delight"

PR-85T: "Pretty Fighty"

Drya Thornne: "Dry Thorn"

Hunches

Mash: not sure, but feels like a reference to something

Mads Gresh: Perhaps a reference to Mads Mikkelsen (Galen Urso)? It feels like there must be something in the pairing of Mads Gresh and San Dressen, but I can't see it.

E3-VE3: "Evie"? Feels like something here, but I'm not sure

Final Boss Twist

So… Am I the only one who found Bode EXTREMELY suspicious at the beginning and throughout the game? He just… appeared and is mysteriously the only one who survived who wasn’t a Jedi (all the others that died were regulars guys, gals n aliens, he’s just a regular dude to me). Secondly, he encouraged things that weren’t supported by the Jedi order (no blasters and no relations) when he knows Cal is a Jedi. Finally at every mention of wanting to bring the Anchorithes or The. Path to Tanlorr he just didn’t want to bring them. I can’t say I was surprised when he turned his back on Cal, though him being a force user was a surprise.
