So i recently switched to linux and am trying to install byond, and on this sub i found this https://codeberg.org/googer/byond.sh/src/branch/main which seems to work, but during the install, specifically when it says it's setting up IE8, as it runs out of memory then. The error message (which are also the 3 last lines in the log) is:

Fontconfig error: "/etc/fonts/fonts.conf", line 86: out of memory

Fontconfig error: "/etc/fonts/fonts.conf", line 91: out of memory

Fontconfig error: Cannot load config file from /etc/fonts/fonts.conf

The winetricks log also bombards me with calls that my wine prefix is in 64 bit instead of 32, but i used the install guide on the official website, so i don't know how to put it in 32 bits, and if it would help with memory. Has anyone else had that issue with it? Is it fixable, or am i just doomed by this laptop's really shitty memory (it has like 2.5 or 3gb ram, maybe less effective ram from hardware damage as it was previously owned by a chainsmoker and is from 2011, though it played ss13 on windows)? Is there a better way to play on linux?

People who play on linux, what do you use for it?

issue with a linux installer, which afaik is the most popular one, byond.sh from codeberg. Open to recommendation of a better one.
