Excellent overview of the ongoing civil war in Ethiopia

I would say about 90% of black men give me a nod or what's up in passing. Maybe about 75% white men, about 50% white women and Latino men, 10% black women, and probably less than 5% all others.

I'm an older, probably nerdy looking black man in a middle class suburb if that makes any difference.

I usually happily answer the normal human courtesy questions from clerks, servers, etc about how I'm doing, did I find everything I need, etc. It costs nothing and is just part of human interaction.

Except when the clerk can't be bothered to look up from what they are doing to look me in the eye. Normally if I stay quiet, they'll think I haven't heard and look up and ask again and we'll carry on as usual.

A few weeks ago, I was at a Publix and the deli clerk for some reason had it in for me. It started with her not looking up and talking with her co worker. They were debating who would make it and it seemed they both just wanted to go on break. She never looked up and barely acknowledged my order which I had to repeat.

It went from bad to worse with the toppings and although I tried to be courteous, she slapped my sandwich together and slapped it on the counter with the Have a nice day' without bothering to look up.

I took the sandwich and walked away without saying anything and heard her say, "guess have a nice day to me too" .

AITAH?

Which 2 should I pick?

If so, for either religion, why do you think that is?

I read that LDS is the fastest growing religion in Africa which would be ironic based on what that religion used to think about black people.

Scientology is even more confusing to me about what would make someone join.

I see posts in the St Pete sub about SP looking to break with Duke? Is there anything like that being considered for Clrw or other Pinellas towns?

Full Disclosure - I mod a sub about Duke horror stories. Not much activity since I suck as a mod, but it's in my profile.

It's a novel about a white missionary family from the southern US that moved to Congo around 1958 just before independence. I'm curious about any personal experiences that are relatable or unlikely from readers.

Looks like we have until June to get this done. Has anyone been through this?
