I came across this Google Books Ngram chart while looking into the growth of the term “ecommerce,” and the trend is pretty interesting.

What stands out is how much the conversation has grown over the years. Today, eCommerce Development is not just about putting products online; it is about creating a smooth, user-friendly experience that people actually enjoy using.

I think that’s one reason modern eCommerce platforms have become so popular. When a website is simple to navigate, fast, mobile-friendly, and makes the buying process easy, people are naturally more likely to like and return to it.

For those working in eCommerce Development, what do you think matters most today: user experience, performance, design, or personalization?

Curious to hear what others in the community think.
