Cold brew bags

Hello folks,

An acquaintance wants to try cold brew for the first time.

Which cold brew bags are recommended to start with? Something that's not too expensive and still gives an experience of all types of roast types.

Thanks in advance!

All the VIKAS of Ahmedabad regressed by decades in just 1 not so heavy rain.

Went to pick up guests arriving on an international flight late last night.

Left Drive-in Road around 2 AM, and the drive to the airport was atrocious.

Waterlogged craters: Huge puddles acting like lakes every few meters.

Reckless driving: Idiots on high beams racing through the water. One guy even crashed straight into the plastic dividers near the Subhash Bridge site.

Airport Chaos (Adani Administration): Reaching the airport was an absolute joke!

Entry: Only 3 operational boom barriers causing a 50+ car jam, worsened by rickshaw drivers blocking barriers because they apparently aren't allowed inside.

Exit: Complete gridlock of 100+ vehicles at the exit because the automated boom barriers completely stopped functioning due to the rain (sabka vikas ek barish me bandh).

Extortion: After waiting 15 minutes, I finally reach the only operational gate and get charged ₹150 because I "spent too much time inside" the premises due to their own system failure. The operator’s empathy and IQ were lower than a bag of potatoes when I tried arguing.

Horror on the Main Roads: Leaving the airport, the rain had stopped, but the waterlogging was horrific. Literal river crossing every half kilometer.

Vijay Cross Roads: Easily the worst hit with almost waist-deep water. If I hadn't been in a decent car, I would have had to abandon a low sedan or hatchback right there in the middle of the pool.

Reality Check for "Global Events": The city administration is out here claiming they are ready for the upcoming Commonwealth Games and Olympics. How exactly does the gormint plan to handle massive international events when they can't even manage basic drainage and parking automation for one midnight spell of rain?

Is "progress" only equated to building tall, empty glass towers taking up space? As a true-blue Amdavadi, seeing the city reduced to this basic civic failure is deeply disappointing.

P. S. Used AI to polish the rant.

Frozen Yogurt

Any good FroYo places in Ahmedabad?

Also, the bigger concern and worry is, are these hygienic? I've heard and experienced a lot of horror stories about food.

Clay pot / માટી ના માટલા

Invoking the hive mind of Ahmedabad again!

This time I'm looking for handmade clay pots for water storage. Most places that I visited in the Bodakdev and Satellite areas have those diecast clay+cement matkas.

I want the real deal original કુંભારે હાથે બનાવેલા માટલા.

Can someone here please point me in the right direction?

Google suggested Dr's pot ensure, but they have stopped doing business.

Is it just me, or has the quality of dining in Ahmedabad plummeted?

I went to Palladium yesterday and tried one of the "classy" spots on the 4th floor.

Long story short: we found a cockroach on our table before the food even arrived. I kept it quiet to avoid a scene, I usually believe in giving people a chance before castigating them.

Sadly the food ended up being a total miss, stale salads and wilted lettuce that looked like it had seen better days.

Paying ₹1k+ per head for "below average" food and poor hygiene is frustrating. I rarely eat out these days, and this experience reminded me why.

Have we as a city become too complacent about these prices and subpar quality?

Edit: Since the sleuths of the group are too keen to know the name, it's Cafe Alloro

Yesterday afternoon at the Amul parlor, while I was waiting to buy my essentials, I saw a Zomato/Swiggy delivery guy rush in buy a packet of buttermilk and gulped the packet standing there.

I found it funny, so asked him what was the hurry?

He said, he's going non-stop for deliveries since morning and didn't get a chance to have lunch, so this was his lunch...

I'm speechless at the troubles these folks are going through to keep us fed, next time you order online food please tip your delivery partners and give them a good rating, their income depends on it.
