Life is unfair

I just need to get this out here because I know I will feel understood in this group.

I just found out that my stepsister who is a year older than me (34) and who smokes marijuana, drinks religiously, snorts cocaine and has made partying her mantra to life is pregnant... My step-mom even told me she lost her period at one point due to her lifestyle.

Whereas I live the complete opposite lifestyle, even getting rid of most things fragrance free like perfume and scented candles, which I love. I've done acupuncture dozens of times, drank disgusting black Chinese tea, eat a brazil nut everyday, and am now trying Mucinex - I am still not pregnant with my one remaining tube. 😪 My partner and I have both ran marathons, exercise everyday and try to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Sometimes you can do everything you're told and still not get the result you want and someone can do everything to destroy their eggs and wind up pregnant.

Life 😐

Mucinex Babies

I've heard of trying mucinex during your fertile week and how it's helped women get pregnant. I know it's more of a social media trend and limited science. There was one study in the 80s that showed some effectiveness. Anyway, this point I'm willing to try anything that won't hurt. I tried letrozole once - didn't work. I did an HSG and hoped it would give me a Fertility bump - didn't work. I am awaiting IVF. Husband and I have been trying for a year no and every BFN every time I take a test. AF is in town now.

Any women have success with mucinex with one tube? My right tube ruptured with my ectopic and I had to get it removed. Anyone try it with letrozole as well (i.e. a cycle using both) and found success? I'd love to hear from you and so happy for you that you got your rainbow babies if it worked 🌈

Crushed, somehow still hopeful and looking for support

Hi everyone,

I'm so glad we have this space. I had an ectopic pregnancy in January 2024 when I was 30. It was my first and only pregnancy so far and unplanned. My husband and I weren't even trying at the time and we got pregnant my first cycle off birth control from the pullout method because my doctor asked me to go off birth control to test my hormones.

I was 7 weeks pregnant when I saw spotting, went to the ER, ultrasound showed no sac, and they tried treating me with MTX. My tube ruptured a week later and I had my right tube removed.

We didn't ttc for the rest of 2024. The trauma of it was so much. We started trying May 2025 after our wedding and it is now July 2026 and no luck....it's been such an emotional roller-coaster with every cycle ending in grief and tears when AF comes.

I feel like I've tried almost everything at this point to get pregnant. I had an HSG in December 2025 and hoped that would help me great pregnant. Nope. It showed my remaining left tube is open.

I just tried letrozole for this cycle and had a positive LH surge and timed intercourse. I had some renewed hope but now I am on day 1 of my period with heavy bleeding.

I've done acupuncture regularly, drank disgusting Chinese tea, and I workout regularly (I ran my first marathon after the ectopic), eat healthy, sleep well most nights, and my cycles are regular (33 to 35 days like clockwork). They used to be 28 to 30 days but now my Luteal phase seems longer ever since the ectopic.

Semen analysis came back normal in May and AMH levels are good. No signs of PCOS or endometriosis.

Has anyone ever been in a similar boat to me and got pregnant? Any advice or ideas? I am willing to try anything else at this point. I'm taking supplements like CoQ10, iron, fish oils, magnesium. I'm also 33 years old now - just had my birthday in June.

We're also now getting ready to do IVF but I'd still like to get pregnant naturally because of the costs.

I'm determined not to give up. It's always been my dream to be a mom and unfortunately struggle comes with making a dream come true. It's been so hard.... I hope to hear from any moms out there 💜

Grieving the idea of being a parent

I am feeling alone and pretty stuck today about being a mom. Aunt flo just came. It's hard to focus on anything else. I have so much anxiety over IVF, TTC, and how long and hard it's been after my ectopic in 2024.

I am trying to stay hopeful and reading success stories helps but also sometimes reading how hard and long it's been and chances of more ectopics...I am wondering if anyone has stopped trying and given up trying to be a parent. Even adoption and surrogacy seems long and arduous. The struggle is real...

Any stories of how and when you moved on. I am feeling stuck on this and depressed today about it 😞

Breaking through Advice

Hello. I started dabbling with DMT this month after recently turning 33. I decided to try DMT for the first time as a sort of birthday trip 😆 I was always interested in the molecule when I first heard about it, scroll this subreddit all the time, read Rick Strassman's book, and watched videos on DMT. I feel like my knowledge of DMT could definitely expand and always be more.

I've had profound experiences already after trying DMT a handful of times. I am interested in microdosing but I am also still curious about completely breaking through. During my last big dose (I had about 5 puffs 10 seconds long) I think I got super close but I still felt a tether to earth and I didn't want to fully let go.

I am thinking of going back and try to completely surrender this time but I heard from others that you won't breakthrough if that's your aim. And I keep wondering if I am truly ready. How do you even know when you're ready?

Any advice for me? I know there is lots of breaking through advice here but I guess I am wondering more about how do you know when you're ready and how do you breakthrough without making that a must so you're not going in there with an agenda if that makes sense?

Microdosing DMT

Can anyone here speak to microdosing DMT for therapeutic benefits? I'd like to learn more about pacing, dosing, and structure for this to help with anxiety, depression, and trauma recovery. There is very little to no human research for this out there. Self-medicated DMT is usually not recommended but after dabbling in it, I feel an intuitive call and curiosity about DMT used as a self-adminstered therapeutic tool for sobriety (i.e. for addictions, PTSD, and trauma recovery, depression, anxiety, suicidality, etc.)

Should I Not Expect So Much Anymore?

To the wives out there: I get a sense that a lot of wives (generally speaking) tend to feel disappointed by their husbands not meeting these high standards we set? I wonder if I am putting impossibly high standards for my husband and if I would feel more at peace if I just expected the bare minimum from him (I.e. basic respect, kindness, decency, empathy), but stop wishing for high emotional intelligence or depth. Some people just don't have that.

AITA for accusing my husband of lying after finding an AI search about infidelity and divorce?

My husband and I have a long history around trust issues. I have never cheated on him, but over the years he has periodically suspected me of cheating with people such as a neighbor or a friend. He later acknowledged these fears were tied to past trauma and hypervigilance. This has been one of the most painful issues in our marriage because honesty and loyalty are very important to me.

Tonight we got into an argument after a comment he made about my mom triggered me. I became anxious and admittedly did not handle it well. I raised my voice and pushed for conversation.

During the argument, I believed I heard him mumble under his breath that I had "created trauma" for him after I said I am anxious, and he did this to me. This pushed me over the edge because he has previously accused me of muttering negative things about him under my breath that I never said. Those accusations made me question my own reality at times. He even retaliated this behavior to me because he thinks I did this before.

Shortly after that, he locked himself in the bathroom. I tried to go in because I felt overwhelmed and wanted to continue the conversation. I fully acknowledge this was wrong and crossed a boundary.

I later apologized and took responsibility for my actions.

After taking a shower to calm down, I still felt like something wasn't adding up. He reassured me before my shower that he had no fears, doubts, or suspicions that I had ever cheated.

I asked for permission to see his phone because I felt scared he was being dishonest about something. I wasn't looking for evidence of cheating. I was looking for evidence that he still doubted me.

While looking through his AI chat history, I found a question that was roughly:

"If there is a divorce in BC and one spouse can prove the other spouse cheated, can that affect what the man receives in the divorce?"

This riled me because it seemed inconsistent with what he had just told me.

I confronted him and told him this is evidence of him lying. He said it meant nothing and that he was just curious. I told him I couldn't understand why someone with zero fears or suspicions would ask that question. I then tried to take a photo of it. He grabbed his phone back, became extremely angry, packed most of his belongings, and left for a hotel. He later returned briefly to get his iPad because I had access to it.

Before leaving, he refused to discuss it further. I told him I felt like I had found evidence that contradicted what he told me and that his reaction made him seem defensive or ashamed. Total silent treatment from him.

I fully acknowledge that I crossed boundaries by raising my voice, trying to enter the bathroom, and pushing for conversation.

I have repeatedly encouraged him to tell me if he feels insecure or fearful, and I respond much better to vulnerability than to suspicion.

AITA for confronting him and accusing him of being dishonest?

God is a DJ 🎵 Double Trip Experience

My DMT experience was unlike anything I've read. I did not breakthrough but dissolved on NN-DMT. It was so gentle and blissful and honestly a breakthrough doesn't even fucking matter to me right now. There are so many stories of breakthroughs that you think that's the ultimate aim, but there is much more to this journey than just that. And here is mine:

After trying DMT for the first time, the day after my 33rd birthday (see that trip report here: https://www.reddit.com/r/DMTandSpirituality/s/bFZXcn2txx)

I decided I was ready to go deeper 5 days later. And yes, I went deeper. The kind community of reddit helped me get my vape smoking technique down. I spent the morning visiting my local church, going for a run, seeing a client for therapy (I am a mental health therapist who helps people process and heal from trauma on a near daily basis), and dancing to my current emotions to enter a fluid state. Then in my bedroom, by myself, with my dog nestled in his crate, and my husband at work, I hit that vape 4 or 5 times with smooth, long, 10s drags on the lowest heat setting until a whisper of "that's enough" came to me and I no longer had control of my hands.

Detachment began. I believe I heard a slight ringing, and then just the rhythm of my heartbeat, separated from my body with only slight holographic awareness of my right hand and forearm. The visuals came after my closet doors waved away from me. The vision was not as vivid, but my mantra that I wrote in my journal just before I entered echoed back to me: "I trust all that there is to come and I surrender" Then came the infamous jester hat, just the hat - no face, no body. I heard its voice telling me "Your mind is not yours, it's mine." Could it have been my own voice? I have no idea, but it didn't sound like me. I really know nothing about most things after experiencing this trip.

I saw the mother Gaia archtype face ethced into geometric patterns once again, only this time with a warmer, subdued hue. Her smiling face a comfort to me after hearing the mockery tone of the jester. I trust these beings. My body felt gone from me yet, it felt like a melting of my being as I was being cradled by some kind of entity who softly dipped me into a warm cosmic bath. I heard my thoughts reflecting - where's the blastoff? Is this a breakthrough? I guess if I have to ask if it is, it isn't. Then once again the reminder of surrender came ringing back.

Then I opened my eyes and saw my bedroom again, silent in utter disbelief - stunned. "What the fuck just happened?" was the only thought I could conjure. I sat frozen for what felt like an hour, telling myself I am done but then the wondering if I could go back came as usual. I took some sips of water, freed my dog from his bedroom crate, and fed him dinner. Responsibilities continue no matter how far you go.

Round 2 - thank you for still being with me if you read up to here:

This trip felt like dying and meeting discoman God, the DJ.

I heard the jester voice in my head again, while "sober" - its snarky, jokey tone and crinkled voice. I asked it if I could go back in my mind. It tells me "Go ahead, your mind is not yours, it's mine". I know how delusional this sounds.

It looked like I smoked up most of my 200mg cart over the course of this week so I figure, let's just finish it off (well I didn't even after this trip). I took a 10s hit on the lowest voltage again, this time holding my breath longer, then a long one on a higher heat setting, my throat felt more tickled, I suppressed a cough, hit it again for 4 to 5s maybe, trying to lower the heat as I went - no success as I let out one cough before the image of my closet doors rounded out into cartoon dimensions. Then particles broke into waves and I saw a zooming out - gone once again, both times a sense of who I am, time, and events before this moment disappeared. I heard a thought to myself ask "why am I doing this again?"

Visuals came on harder (check back later for art I hope to add. I have to draw this out).

Gone from my body, floating - so hard to describe the bubble that is consciousness. I, if it is me, felt led down a discothèque corridor with neon and electric images (was this supposed to be the tunnel?) Honestly, there are no supposed to's). I saw images of wired figures working, dwarf-like miniature men in a circle doing what looked like busy-work, and an abstract Picasso-like drawing of a male and female cartoon-face reminding me now of a disco-neon version Mrs and Mr Pac-man kissing with big lips and red hearts emanating. Then came what I call discoman-God, any Simpson fans here know Disco-Stu? Well that's the best way I can compare. It asked me "Do you really want to see? I'll show you." I then ascended and saw a psychedelic grandfather clock ticking back and forth. I went into it, then saw a corkscrew, so vivid, with a keyhole, and within the keyhole an opening and a bright light radiating from a clear blue sky with clouds. It asked me again, "I'll show you if you really want to see." The only connection back to earth was the faint sound of my dog, Rubble sniffing at my bedroom door. I say Rubble's name and the being tells me "Leave Rubble" I refuse. I had no awareness that I was on DMT at this moment. That thought escaped me. It felt like I was being taken, dying, and I didn't want to leave my dog. Seeing behind the veil, the nature of reality didn't compare to the love I have on Earth at that moment. And honestly, at this time, it doesn't.

I came back. The closet doors still waved for a moment before things solidified. Wow. Stunned again. What just happened? Did I imagine everything or dream it all? Honeslty, I don't think I could imagine this if I tried. And there is a sense of transportation that is hard to describe until you feel it. I commend all of you courageous users. This is something inconceivable.

My life lesson from it: Even though I am a therapist who holds the profession of supporting those struggling with the human experience, I too am human, and I have battled suicidality at times for half of my life. Suicide always seemed like a mysterious and final deletion of pain. I imagined plans, hurt myself in a careless attempt, wrote out notes, and envisioned my death endlessly. I fantasized about being nothing and dying to see what's beyond. The deep draw of mystery and the answer of truth to life's largest questions is so insatiable. Being a therapist, witnessing suffering day in and day out, I'd be lying if death didn't seem tempting. Then, yesterday, a soft death occurred. And I was offered the answer to what's behind the light. Yet did I take it? No. And I do not regret it at all. I have never felt more appreciation for my life and a deeper connection to it than ever before. I am left with more questions but so much more clarity as well. I believe with strength that I will never feel suicidal again, even with more of life's suffering on the way. It's just part of the story.

We will all find out the truth eventually, but we are meant to live our lives. There is truly no rush. And the deepest treasure of life is what we all know all along: Love. The jester is indeed laughing at me because what a cosmic joke that I came looking to understand more about humanity, find what's beyond, and all I wanted was to go back and be with my loving and adorable dog (honestly if you could see how cute he is, you'd get why I came back too)

I finished my day eating spaghetti and leftover birthday cake with my husband. We then walked my dog and I couldn't help but double over in laughter at my experience during our walk.

Thanks for reading my DMT memoir 😅 Off to listen to Pink's "God is a DJ" 🎵 and dance barefoot in my kitchen with my dog now 💖

First time DMT experience; is this normal?

So i did dmt last night. I got a psychedelic experience around midnight. I first set up my whole space around 6 pm and got into a calm, open state of mind. I felt ready. Then the pen didn't work so we had to go back to the shop to get it fixed. I had a full dinner before with birthday cake for dessert. It was recently my 33rd birthday.

I first started with a small couple of puffs that I first choked on. It gave me an uncomfortable feeling in my throat that I took time to soothe. I didn't feel much other than a fuzziness and feeling breathless. I don't smoke or vape so it took me time to get used to it.

Then I took one long inhale for 10 seconds on the lowest heat setting. I had an eye mask on and first described things being like jelly. I laughed uncontrollably and felt secure, relaxed, confident, solid afterwards. So i thought I can do more. I waited 30 mins. I felt alert, alive, and relaxed. I listened to my music Playlist that I prepared for DMT.

Then i took longer drags of the vape pen - about 3.5 -supposedly 30 to 40 MG, but probably less. And a donut stuffy in front of me looked like a cartoon and everything just zoomed away. I then saw for 5 to 10 minutes (felt like that anyway) of kaleidoscope - so many kaleidoscope crystals. I could still hear my own voice encouraging me to let go but still feel my body - the hiccups from the smoke, my legs not fully extended but having trouble extending it, sounds from my husband who trip sat me Visually, it was kaleidoscope and little imp men running across the screen. I saw the face of Gaia, mother earth within the kaleidoscope. And it formed the shape of mushrooms. It wasn't as vivid as I'd like. And I can't help but feel more enamored and curious to try more. Is this stuff addicting? I hope not. In the end i saw a luminous tree in the shape of mushroom with a pond of water and stars beneath and above (beautiful). I am itching for a breakthrough experience now and I am thinking of trying again in 4 days. Would that be okay? I've been interested in this for a long time and obsessed about it since reading Dr. Rick Strassman's book.

Fast forward to today, and I feel like I am bobbing on a wave of being here and loving life to not really being here. My grip on reality feels a little looser and I feel more irritable and anxious at times. I'd like a breakthrough experience and I am wondering how I can do that as a non-smoker.

TLDR: I did DMT for the first time last night and I got more of a visual rush (kaleidoscope and archetypal imagery), but still felt in my body. I'd like to do it again, when would it feel safe to do that, and is it normal that I don't want to work the next day, but just take it easy, process, and feel a little less here on earth and at other times feel clarity and present?
