AITAH-For asking my parents for a decent mobile phone?

17M here, so the thing is that i never had my own personal mobile phone from thoughout my teenage years, it always used to be their faulty old phones(pre-lockdown androids) which they called "family phones", so it had basically zero privacy.

In my junior year, both these phones basically gave up and i shifted to using socials on my dad's laptop(only WhatsApp) which was connected to a 2gb ram tablet whcih froze every other second(it was my brother's). I dont use instagram, snapchat, twitter etc. cuz its looked down upon.

Ive never asked them for a new one, cuz i felt that i didnt deserve it enough(was convinced that it was a distraction). Rarely partied/went out in high school/done notorious things most high schoolers do + dont have any addiction.

At the end of my senior year(now), i cleared my state entrance exams and will be getting a seat at the top state uni... so i asked them for a new phone(better model, slightly just a bit expensive than normal ones, but not an iPhone) because i received a full ride and they wont have to pay a lot of fees.

On that their reaction was that i didnt study or take enough efforts to deserve a something like that and the fact that i missed out on top unis countrywide. I actually spend a very little time (3-4 hours per day) on studying as it helps me retain stuff better which they have mistaken for me not grinding enough.

They say that we have provided everything for you(good food, shelter, clothes, education etc.) and that is more than sufficient which i believe are the most basic things parents have to provide.

(never owned a pc, ps/xbox + dont even have a TV at homesince 2021). They say that theyve spent a lot on us an i should be grateful which i actually am. But i feel that i missed out on the type of luxury that my peers got(also we are pretty well off financially).

Sooo am i the AHole for asking for a good phone(so that my peers dont make fun of me) or are they actually right? theyll prolly buy me a very cheap one... is it like this for everyone?

EDIT:
to those who are asking me to get a job,

in my country actually, they dont give job to minors, not even a part time job...
also its looked down upon a lot, none of my peers earn for themselves so my parents wont let me do it..
it is only after we graduate from college, we land on a job and support ourselves, people usually move out at 21-22, till then theyre taken care of by their parents. They dont want me to work as a freelancer or get a job rn in the first place...

Is imsc Mathematics and Computing worth for masters abroad/higher studies?

Im mostly looking to pursue this course with the sole aim to get into prestigious london colleges and study Mast. Math+Finance degrees as my goal is to get into HFTs in London, my questions are:

Is this path realistic?
Have seniors from this course cracked IVY Leagues/equivalent clgs for higher studies?
Does it contain ample math rigour required to get in?
What should an ideal profile look like to have a shot at these unis?
Are the professors supportive/considerate to students going abroad?

Seniors from this branch pls enlighten me...
