I hate how racism towards indians are normalized

it's so dumb and stupid. i mean, i hate racism in general. i hate how people say the n word— people in my country have this problematic humor of saying it.

seriously tho, how can you hate someone for their skin color, and for their ethnicity 😭

Does anyone else get emotional about growing up?

i'm 19f, and lately i've been feeling this really bittersweet sadness whenever i think about growing up.

it's not that i'm scared of becoming independent or having responsibilities. of course those things can be intimidating, but that's not what's making me emotional.

the feeling is hard to explain. it's more like.... i can't believe i'm finally grown up. i can't believe i'm no longer that sweet, innocent little girl i used to be.

whenever i walk alone to school or go to appointments by myself, i pass the church my family used to take me to every sunday. i remember wearing little dresses, going to church with my parents, and then we'd usually spend time together afterwards, whether it was eating somewhere or running errands. every time i pass that place, i get this lump in my throat that i struggle to swallow because of the intense nostalgia i feel.

i miss those ordinary moments so much. everything was so simple.

sometimes i think about how i'm going to be 20 next year. i genuinely can't imagine being older. not because i think life ends after your teenage years, but because it's overwhelming to realize that childhood is something i can never go back to.

it's strange because i know i'm still young. i know people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, and beyond are still learning and growing. i know i have so much life ahead of me. but emotionally, i still find myself misisng the little girl i used to be.

nostalgia is beautiful, but it hurts so bad.

i don't really know why i wanted to write this. i guess i've just been carrying this feeling around for a while. if anyone, especially those who are older than me, has ever felt something similar, i'd genuinely love to hear your perspective.
