Luzon Economic Corridor
60% of the Philippines 🇵🇭 GDP resides in this area. See Map.
Connecting the Port of Subic and Clark International Airport and freeport zone and the Ports of Manila and Batangas is critical for the Philippines to maximize its potential.
Add the NSCR into this….and you can see how Pampanga is going to benefit greatly from this economic development.
Sadly….NSCR looks to be 2030ish….the national rail line/system has no completion date
UNIQUE 🇵🇭 THINGS:
Whenever you enter a Province or a City or a Barangay…..there always is an arch….A welcoming sign that calls out: “Welcome to Pampanga”….or…Welcome to Barangay Santa Rosa.
An identifier. A cool architectural statement.
A few examples
Hello Laguna and Cavite
I was reading about vehicle manufacturing in the Philippines 🇵🇭…and the four (4) largest manufacturers are located in Laguna Cavite Economic Zone.
Toyota Motor Philippines — Santa Rosa, Laguna. The biggest operation; produces vehicles including the Vios, Innova and Tamaraw.
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines — Santa Rosa, Laguna. One of the country’s largest vehicle factories. It is also particularly important going forward because Mitsubishi plans Philippine hybrid production.
Isuzu Philippines — Biñan, Laguna. Trucks and commercial vehicles, plus a substantial Philippine automotive-parts/transmission ecosystem.
Hino Motors Philippines — Canlubang, Laguna. Trucks and buses.
Happy to hear that there is at least a small manufacturing base in the Philippines 🇵🇭.
How is the area to live in?…does the “prosperity” of the area reflect in the cities…the services…the roads…the daily life?
Would love to learn more about Laguna area. We have really good friends in Pila Laguna.
Question for U.S. military veterans/expats in the Philippines receiving VA disability compensation
I’m trying to better understand how VA disability percentages actually work.
For those of you receiving VA disability compensation:
Who ultimately determines your disability percentage?
Is the percentage based strictly on medical evidence, or are there other factors involved?
How difficult is it to receive a 100% disability rating?
Is 100% usually based on one serious disability, or a combination of several conditions?
Are disability ratings periodically reviewed, or can a 100% rating essentially become permanent?
I ask because I’ve met or heard of quite a few veterans in the Philippines who say they are rated 100% disabled. From the outside, the number seems surprisingly high, and it made me wonder how the system works and whether 100% disability is more common than most civilians realize.
I’m not accusing anyone of abusing the system. I’m genuinely interested in hearing from veterans who have gone through the VA process and can explain how the percentage is determined and why someone who appears healthy and active could legitimately have a 100% rating.
….and THANK YOU for your service.
