You guys have ruined me…
I used to just pick whichever flight was cheapest or timing worked best. Now I’m checking which plane is scheduled to fly each route, taking that into the equation, and then being disappointed at equipment changes when previously I never would have realized it had happened.
Whatever, at least you all haven’t roped me into collecting trading cards.

Backstitched the box around the eye “x” and added a French knot and no longer have a cartoon style “dead” bird. Didn’t need the double morbidity there.
I used variegated floss for the lilacs, but swapped the second strand around because I didn’t want a true gradient with it. I might redo it as the big sections where the medium colors match up make the smaller more blended sections look a bit weird to my eye.
Overall I’m pretty happy with it and actually going to make 2 more so my mom and sister have one as well.

[CHAT] Oh no….
Backstory : my gram passed away in October. One of the things of hers I kept was her box of floss. After 6 months of letting the stale cigarette smell dissipate it was ready to use. Her favorite animals were hummingbirds and I thought it would be a good cross stitch idea.
I found a few different patterns, but I decided I wanted whatever I made to be entirely out of her stash. With the limitations of that I went with a smaller simple design. Overall I’m happy with it, but…
The eye is a single square and now it looks like it’s supposed to be dead. Guys, I made a dead hummingbird out of my dead grandma’s floss.

[FO] Pretty Little Barcelona
Pattern is from Satsuma Street. Her store picture is the 3rd image.
Still need to wash and iron, but not quite sure how I feel about this one. My original plan was to do one for each city my partner and I have traveled to. With all the colors I thought it would pop more on black Aida and I used the smallest weave I could find to reduce the overall size. Used 2 threads for a fuller fill-in as the single thread seemed a little sparse. Now I’m second guessing and wondering if this is too bulky.
Or I’ve just been staring at this for too long…

I’m trying to figure out a rough itinerary centered around required reservations.
Right now we have Fridheimer at 1:30 (could change it to 3:30). We were considering the Fontana bakery tour as a kitschy interesting thing and that’s at 11:45 or 2:30, but this is the thing we’re most willing to bypass.
Ideally we’d like to end the day at a lagoon. Last admission at Secret Lagoon is 5:30. Last at Laugaras is 7:30.
Beyond that possibilities are:
Thingvellir (1-2 hours)
Hrafnagja observation deck (10 mins)
Efstidalur (30 min)
Bruarfoss (1 hour)
Faxafoss (30 mins)
Geysir (1 hour)
Bru Horse Farm (30 min)
Gullfoss (1 hour)
Bruarhlod (15 min)
I’m trying to keep estimates on the longer side so we don’t try to fit too much in. That said, do any of those numbers look way off? Can’t realistically do everything and we may end up pivoting from plans day of.
Depending on daylight left we may try to hit Kerid crater post lagoon, but there’s also room to hit that as a detour the next day on our way down to Vik.
