Long shot...lost bracelet at Little Bluff

Long shot...lost bracelet at Little Bluff

Hi there. I just figured out I probably lost a Labradorite bracelet at Little Bluff on the rocks. It looks like the one in this picture. It doesn't have tons of monetary value, but it's extremely important to me as it was a special gift.

Here's the long shot part: it was in late August. I've been looking for it every since but just today figured out when & where it went missing.

Cyclists: how are you getting from east to west campus?

Just wondering if there's an alternative to the Nassau Mills Road Bridge with the 2 crazy busy intersections at either end. I don't even get why that bridge is so busy all the time.

I know parking my bike on east campus & walking over the pedestrian bridge is the obvious option. I don't have any actual classes on the east Bank though & it's a lot farther especially at night.

Is there a secret tunnel or magic portal I don't know about? I never see other cyclist crossing that bridge.

Ideas for printing/sharing notes/maps/photos of trip?

Hi everyone. I hope this question is OK here. We just finished a 3 week trip in the Northwest Territories (a combo of upstream / height of land / downstream that ended up in the Thelon) and I'm now going through our journals, maps, photos, etc. We want to make some kind of "book" that captures the story & important details of our trip for ourselves, but is also something our friends and family can flip through if they like.

What have you guys done that's worked well for you? I was thinking of making 2 things: 1. one of those photobooks you can order from numerous platforms, which would include our nicest photos & some captions & a bit of extra info for context, which is what most people would probably look at. 2. Basically a word document that includes the 20 pages of typed journal text I already have, screencaptures of maps, and screencaptures of satellite imagery of key features, which I could get printed and bound at Staples, & which would be mainly for us and other super-keen friends.

Important context: we are old school, nerdy, and biologists, so want to be able to include satellite imagery of things like eskers, bird lists, pictures of little sketches I did, CFWIS maps & data, and stuff like that. And I'm looking for a somewhat low-tech option where I don't have to learn a brand-new complicated app or platform.

Thanks for any new ideas you might have!

A little drive through our favourite town tonight

What a treat! I wanted to avoid the 401 (Canada's busy highway) on my way from A to B tonight and it took me through town! I spotted this special little Easter egg around the corner from Rose Apothecary, near where the Moira's Rose's garden should be.

Finnegan's Wake

If you enjoy live theatre, you must go see this show at the Baby Grand before it ends (which i think is soon). The acting, the set design, the puppetry, the adaptation of an unreadable novel - sit back and enjoy the ride!! We're so lucky to have such talent and creativity here. I saw the first production 25 years ago and saw it again last week. Absolutely loved it, again. (I don't know any of the people involved but they deserve to be appreciated)

Wool rug cleaning

Hello! I have a wool rug I bought in Morocco about 25 years ago that badly needs to be cleaned properly. I'm thinking of bringing it to Kingston Royal Rugs but am open to other suggestions. Ty!

PLEASE stop playing "Dry Spell" all day every day

I mean it's been at least twice a day for weeks (Mornings and Drive). Sure, it's a catchy song but CBC Music ALWAYS does this - plays a good song to death until we hate it, and then never plays it again. And honestly I'm pretty sick of hearing about Kacey Musgrave's shed that she wants someone's tool up in. C'mon guys. Mix it up a bit.
