Over the past few months, i have been dealing with lot of large documents like pdf's, word files, scanned reports, technical manuals, some pretty lengthy guides.

Going into it, I thought the hardest part would be getting accurate translations.

Turns out, the translation itself was not the biggest challenge.

The real challenge was everything that happened afterward - fixing formatting, dealing with scanned PDFs, managing huge files, and keeping terminology consistent across hundreds of pages.

Here is what I have tried as a User:

1. Google Translate

Fast and free. Great for checking phrases or translating small chunks of text.

For larger documents, I found myself spending more time managing the workflow than reviewing the translation.

2. DeepL

Probably the strongest raw translation quality I have tested, especially for European languages. The output felt natural and readable. If all I needed was text translation, this would probably be my first choice.

3. ChatGPT / Claude

Excellent for improving tone, rewriting awkward sentences, and understanding context.

I found them especially useful when reviewing translations or adapting content for a specific audience. The downside is that very large documents can become difficult to manage because of file size and context limitations.

4. Pairaphrase

This is where my workflow started becoming much easier.

What I liked is that it is not tied to a single translation engine. It lets you work with engines such as DeepL, Microsoft Translator, Google Translate, ChatGPT, and others inside the same platform.

For larger projects, the OCR support for scanned PDFs and document handling features saved me a lot of time. Instead of constantly extracting text, translating it elsewhere, and rebuilding documents, I could keep most of the process in one place.

5. Manual copy-paste workflow

This was my original method.

Copy text - translate - paste back - fix formatting - repeat.

It works, but after doing this for a few hundred pages, I realized it simply was not sustainable.

Finally my takeaway is the best translation engine and the best translation workflow aren't always the same thing.

DeepL gave me some of the best raw translations. ChatGPT helped improve readability and tone.

But once documents became large enough, workflow mattered more than translation quality alone. Things like OCR, formatting preservation, and file management ended up saving more time than choosing between translation engines.

I am curious what everyone else is using for large PDFs and document heavy translation projects.

ఇందులో రాజులు లేరు, రాచరికపు చిహ్నాలూ లేవు. మన ఇంటికి ఎవరొచ్చినా ఆప్యాయంగా పలకరించే "నమస్కారం", మన సంప్రదాయాన్ని ప్రతిబింబించే సాంస్కృతిక నృత్యం, ముగ్గులూ... అంతే!

మనందరినీ కలిపేది మన భాష, మన సంస్కృతి. అందరినీ కలుపుకుపోయేలా డిజైన్ చేసిన ఈ కొత్త బ్యానర్ పాత దానికంటే మీ అందరికీ మరింత నచ్చుతుందని, మన సబ్‌రెడిట్ ఆత్మీయతకు అద్దం పడుతుందని మనస్పూర్తిగా ఆశిస్తున్నాను.

I really love the bright orange color of our current subreddit icon, so I decided to design a matching background banner for r/telugu.

Legends in the banner: Sri Krishnadevaraya and Atukuri Molla!

I really hope it brings pride to our subreddit and makes our community page feel a little more like home. My only concern is that while this banner is very PC-friendly, it loses some of its appeal when Reddit crops it for mobile screens.

I would love to hear some reactions from you guys.

గుడిలో నాట్య ప్రదర్శన, వావ్, ఎంత బాగుందో, యేమి ఆ లాఘవం, యేమి ఆ సౌందర్యం, యేమి ఆ భావ ప్రదర్శన, చూసి ముగ్ధుడిని అయిపోయినా!

మన రాజులు, పూర్వీకులు భారతీయ శాస్త్రీయ నృత్యాలకు పెద్ద పీట వేసింది ఎందుకు అని ఇప్పుడు అర్థం అవుతుంది నాకు!

వాహ్ చిన్న పిల్లలు కూడా ఎంత బాగా నృత్యం చేస్తున్నారో, భలే ముద్దు గా ఉన్నాయి వాళ్ళ హావభావాలు!
