short, fat, and curvy guy. any gear advice?

I'm looking to get some gear since I'm getting my license soon, but due to my unfortunate build (5'2, 190 pounds, most of its on my hips) I have a really hard time finding men's clothes that fit me well. I'm looking for brands that provide good protection in case of a crash (duh) but I'd also like to find armor with maybe a little more bulk? I'm very attracted to Aerostich's style of gear but it's got a bigger price tag then I think I can pay for a whole set of gear. Any advice?

how does a 50cc scooter compare to lime bikes/gliders?

i'm looking to get a scooter and was curious how similar a 50cc scooter compares to a lime bike/gliders engine? i cant seem to find any information talking about it online and even just anecdotal evidence would be appreciated.

opinions on the honda ruckus?

i'm looking to get my first scooter and am very endeared by the honda ruckus. im still between if i want to invest in a 50cc scooter or a 150cc scooter (don't want nor need to be getting on freeways/highways and am content just putting around town on scooter, but worry about it's capacity for steep hills since i live in seattle). anyone whos got more knowledge about the honda ruckus, is it any good? i love the way it looks and have been able to find a few near by me for decent price, + a general trust for honda products

moped/scooter/ebikers of seattle, which should I drive?

I'm young, in college and need to get around but can't afford a car. I've got a bum knee and am not the most athletic person, so I'm kind of opposed to e-bikes just because of the pedaling, but frankly if its not walking I'm happy. But which is 'better'? I worry about the hills, I've heard Seattle's hills are a little too much for both scooters and ebikes depending on the quality and motor capacity. Anyone who mopeds/scooters/ebikes in Seattle, please chime in!

in seattle and looking to scooter, any suggestions?

I'm 19, just starting college, and currently not full time employed (feel the need to mention this because every time I mention wanting to buy a scooter someone tells me to just save for a car, I don't want nor have the ability to support a car, thus, scooter). one of my biggest issues right now is I'm not really able to get around very easily because I've got a bum knee and no car. I've looked into e-bikes but I'm not a very athletic guy and they still require pedaling. My dad recommended I look into a scooter/moped, and I'm curious if anyone has any Seattle specific resources? I've been reading up on road laws regarding scooters, but any personal anecdotes about driving in Seattle or recommendations about places to shop for a scooter would be greatly appreciated. I'm not dead set on anything yet, just curious and looking to learn more!

mudlarking on west coast USA?

hi yall

ive been wanting to get more into proper mudlarking and less beach combing, but I live in the west coast. most people I see mudlarking are either in the UK/surrounding area or the East coast of the US. we dont have nearly as long of a history in terms of things like glass and pottery production as other spots, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips for finding good spots? I live in washington and most people just suggest beach combing when I ask about it (which I do, and its good fun) but any advice about creeks or rivers would be appreciated

How am I suppose to *start* working?

I'm 19, graduated high school, starting Seattle promise this fall... How am I suppose to start working though? I've applied at quite literally every large retail chain in my neighborhood and asked the people at the local chains if their hiring and have had a few emails back, 6 total actual interviews and no job. I've worked before in retail, 2 stores in retail while in high school. Now I have all this time on my hands and no-one will hire me when I actually need a job, I feel like I'm going crazy. I don't have a care and would prefer to work somewhere thats got decent bus schedules (ie, downtown, cap hill, ect) because I'm 19 and don't have the money for a car, no job = no money for gas either. Am I missing something? How on earth are people getting jobs fresh out of high school? I keep being recommended to try internships but that seems even more insane, I have no tech experience and that's what 90% of the internships in Seattle are.
I literally will take any advice at this point, I've been unemployed for months and I feel like such a bum.
