Do you guys remove the whole board when doing the kamikaze method? Like do you just drill while the whole screen is still intact?

I succesfully modded my switch oled then the picofly logo showed up. I then opened the original firmware and inserted the left joycon and when I inserted the right joycon, the screen suddenly turned black but there are still sign of touch and sounds and even the controller still works
Idk what could have happened
