Rower Erg Drag Factor Question: Should I lower my drag factor from 120 to 85-90?

Hello,

I usually row with a drag factor of 120.

However, my force curves are like really wide bell-curves with no peak. Average to peak force ratio is usually 75%.

One of the suggestions is if you are getting a really wide force curve with no discernible peak, you should lower your damper setting.

So I did that today but rowing an 8k became extremely difficult. I had to concentrate on every stroke to maintain my target 2:13/500m pace. I could undershoot or overshoot but hitting just the right pace was hard. It also was that I almost always ran the risk of slowing down - I had to constantly adjust my speed. I had trouble establishing a rhythm. I couldn't finish the sesh.

I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble. But if it is, It's going to take some serious adjustment.

I was always taught that the damper setting should be between 3-5 and I sort of randomly left it on 4.

Optimal Approximate Values for Peak Force Position (%)?

Hi all,

The new update to the C2's ErgData app introduces a new metric called Peak Force Position.

See the screenshot.

I'm guessing the ideal value for this has to be between 35% and 50% but I just wanted to ask if anyone has any guidance about it. What's the best way to make use of this new data point?

Careful out there - My Recent Reddit Ban

Hello,

Recently I saw a post on r/vegan that complained about how reducing meat consumption was not enough to gain vegans‘ respect and that vegans still called the poster a murderer.

I naturally made fun of this in my comment by satirizing it from the perspective of a racist. In my comment, I wrote from the perspective of a racist who complains that even though he reduced the number of racist jokes they make, other non-racist people still don’t respect him. I was merely satirizing the poster’s comment by how absurd it would be when applied to something like racism.

My comment got instantly removed and I immediately got banned by Reddit algos - automated ban for promoting hate against a certain group. So it wasn’t r-vegan mods. I appealed and a human reviewer denied my appeal.

I made similar satirical posts on r/vegancirclejerk before and I wasn’t banned by Reddit algos. So not sure what’s going on

The experience left me a bit shaken and less willing to post on Reddit.

Just wanted to share.

Burdan duruşmaya gidilmesine gerek yok diye anlıyorum ama gene de sormak istedim.
