Bought a house and there are some plugs without the standard switches to switch them on and off. This one has a live mains sticker on it. Does this just mean that I can't switch it off and is it otherwise safe to use?
Hi all, moved into a house and took the carpet up with the aim of either refinishing floorboards or putting down flooring. Someone has wired this (alarm?) into the wall by going across the door threshold and around the edge of a room.
Which is a bit of a problem. The wire just disappears into a wall nearest to a plug socket. Is there anything I can do to get rid of the wire? I can't have it across the door threshold and around the room where it's a trip hazard or accessible to be chewed by my cats.
Do I need to get an electrician in to somehow disconnect the device and cut the wire at the wall?

Since jumpstarting my car, it asks for a radio code. Which is normal, but then after I put on the radio code and start the radio or put on music it cuts out after a minute and asks for the radio code again. The garage said this is probably electrical and they'd need to get an electrician in. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?
