How does Union actually protect civil services employees?

Or I am under the wrong impression.

I see Lots of people hire through ‘non for profit partner’ or pay though a contract will get higher pay for the same role, better health care and more vacation. They can also be fully remote and not stay within NYC.

There are executive level managing civil service staff.

They also get annual increase at higher rate.

Asking for 2.5 weeks off, best approach

Managers what is the best approach to ask for 2.5 weeks off in Nov. for family member that need medical care

verbally or email?? An ask or request.

Should I share the reason?? I personally will like to keep it private.

My manager is always thinking it’s ’crunch’ type. I feel pressure when she say ‘be mindful of this’. So I am afraid to ask but also want to put my family need first. If she pressure me to change date how should I respond??

Can I get some wording on how to phase it?? Thanks.

Crunch time all the time

Do you ever experience a boss who seems to think it’s crunch time all the time?

But recently got a new boss always want me to consider the crunch time. It almost felt like it’s crunch time all the time. Deck being send over that’s ‘urgent’ but wasn’t read until a week later. Urgent report needs to be submitted but not used at all. It’s becoming all item are urgent….

Every single time I request time off it’s ‘be mindful of the crunch time.’

I am looking for advice on how to react …

How to respond to request for time off?

Hi managers just looking for interpretation and advices. Am I overthinking….

I have work this place for 6 months, but with the company for a while. When I request time off for 3 days. My manger reply ‘ this is fine but June is a busy time, make sure your work are down’

I am feeling like every time I ask time off eg sick day or dr app, or here and there, it always felt to be a busy time and has some deadline.

This is not a big company, just office admin work really. So no hard deadline. A lot of rush is really no rush at the end.

I will need to take 2 weeks off in Nov. should I let my manager know early? How should I word it? I am feeling anxious.

I have lots of time off accumulated. I don’t want to overreact or over read and looking for some suggestion of how to approach

My company agree to pay for one PMP prep/ course or study material . They won’t pay for the exam so it’s on me.

Not planning to take it right away and is doing the new test

What will you recommend to get??
