So I have a GE GDT655SMJ5ES.

Recently, the dishwasher has an issue with the control board. SOMETIMES it doesn't shut off, so every hour (or 2?) it makes a beep sound that it thinks it's still open (unless it's running, then it's quiet).

Now, I'm wondering if that ^ issue is related to a dirty top rack problem I have.

I can't say whether it popped up at the same time as the control board, it could be. I know that we've lived here for 2+ years and didn't have the issue before, and our habits (for as far as we can recall) have not changed.

Problem:

The top rack has residue left over in the bowls. Photo of minimal example (some bowls are full of this): https://imgur.com/a/9s1SCtq

We use Walmart powdered detergent, doesn't matter if we use more or less. Same issue. We fill up both the basket and the pre-wash basket.

What I've tried & done:

  • Clean the filter (we do it weekly)
  • Clean the metal filter (also weekly)
  • Cleaned out the arms, they were clean. Attached hose, all flow at the same rate.
  • Inspected and cleaned the plastic bit at the back that makes the water travel to the top sprayer, was clean.
  • Ensure that nothing stops the arms from spinning.
  • Run it empty.
  • Run it with vinegar.
  • Run it on a long cycle with cleaning tablet.
  • Ran it with boiling hot water, no difference.
  • Ran it with auto-sense dirt or heavy dirt, no difference.

Nothing helped.

If it is the control board, I'm probably getting a high-end Bosh. No point in repairing this, due to age.

Could it be that the ball-valve that directs water to the top is broken? Sometimes I have the feeling that I hear it spin 3 times and then it gives up? I don't know...

I'm trying to figure out what the values are referenced in the manual:

Below 1: cold, in blue.

Between 1 & 2: ?

Between 2&3: lower half of the display, is operating temp. So once oil is above 120 we can floor it?

Manual reference:

I'm ashamed and annoyed to have to ask this.

I just bought a way too expensive car, only to realize that my 18OZ Yeti water bottle does not fit anywhere in this car.

The cup holders just hold a normal can, as do the doors.

Any suggestions?

Situation:

  • My wife, Dutch, moved to the States with me.
  • Me, Belgian, moved to the States with my wife.

Soon we'll take the USA Citizenship test and become US citizens.

For me, Belgian, no problem. I can take a second citizenship.

However, for my wife, according to Dutch law, if she adopts a citizenship she loses here Dutch one, EXCEPT if she adopts the one of her spouse (there are other exceptions that don't apply to her). She doesn't want to lose the Dutch one as it facilitates easier travel to visit aging parents in the Netherlands.

Now, based on the 'take citizenship of spouse means not losing your Dutch one' I was thinking the following:

  1. I take the test, and take US Citizenship. After that she takes the test and gets US Citizenship.
  2. After that, we can claim that she took the citizenship of her spouse. I'd be interested to see how we let the Dutch authorities know (if we even have to?) about adopting a new citizenship, and whether there is a checkbox about the spouse, and how that works?

Now, I'm not looking for illegal ways, I am trying to understand whether this a way that passes muster.

I speak Dutch, English (and French), so don't hesitate to comment with thoughts / advice / references / people to talk to etc.
