Why doesn’t the Hippogriff have a laspistol in its profile?

Why doesn’t the Hippogriff have a laspistol in its profile?

If the meltas fail you bet that I’m rolling that laspistol into the C’tan

What’s this bit on the Death Rider sprue?

Kinda looks like a camera to me, though I’m guess that’s not what it is!

Played my first game against World Eaters; got absolutely minced by Bezerkers

Pictured: My last unit (command blob) with backs to the table edge; bravely staring down the vile archenemy before being turned to mincemeat

Context: I'm still new to modern 40k, and new to competitive play. I also have a non-meta, thematic army focusing on infantry and cavalry (so I do accept that I'll lose into optimized opponents, that's fine). No one in my local friendgroup plays Chaos, and so during a local RTT I faced World Eaters for the first time.

I found Bezerkers basically impossible to deal with. With the combo of strategems, special rules, etc. they were able to make a 1st turn charge fully into my deployment zone, and were able to congo line their 20 unit blob to engage half my army. Kill a unit, 6 inch consolidate into the next line, rinse and repeat. I charge them back with my melee units on my turn, and they fight on death and kill the rest of my stuff on my turn.

I acknowledge most of this was my lack of experience, and also much of this was probably my infantry heavy army which was (I guess) a poor match up into Bezerker spam.

But I'm also confused as to how you are supposed to deal with this, given their blood surge, massive threat range, and ability to 6 inch pile in / consolidate (presumably this means you need screens 8 inches apart?!)

Was my experience playing WE a typical experience, or did I do especially badly due to my lack of experience and list construction. Was still a learning experience regardless, and it was a beautifully painted army!

Inquistor Kroyle horse kitbash?

Anyone tried kitbashing Kroyle onto a horse? I thought perhaps the AOS Freeguild Cavalier Marshal could be a good fit.

Anyone tried something similar? Wondering what the sizing is like and whether he can 'mount' the horse properly?

I've got an Imperial Guard cavalry themed army, so I'm excited to get another mounted character (plus Lord Solar and Lord Marshal Drier). But I want them all to be on horses to fit the theme of my army 😄

Army regeneration in mixed-population-class armies

Haven't played DeI in a year or two. Love the mod and played hundreds of hours.

One of my prior frustrations though was that in an army that contains multiple population classes, if the region you're in doesn't allow one of those population classes to regenerate, the entire army doesn't regenerate.

e.g. Let's say you've got a core of 2-4 'elite' noble style units from pop class 1, and then the rest of your army is comprised of local foreign class 4 units. If you're in a newly-conquered foreign region and thus have low or zero class 1 population, since your elite units can't regen, it blocks all of your foreign units from renegerating too.

Role-playing wise this doesn't make sense to me and breaks immersion.

It makes complete sense that your nobles can't regenerate. But my local levies/mercenaries/AoR units should be able to. It breaks immersion for me because it seems to defeat the purpose of recruiting local units. I might as well just take a 100% foreign army so I can regen anywhere, or accept that if I have any of my native units I might as well have my entire army comprised of my native units. What's the point of taking 'weaker' native units if they aren't even able to regenerate anyway?

Is this still a mechanic in the present version of the mod? And if so, what's the barrier to correcting this?

Thanks!

EDIT: Mods responded below. Explained that it’s a Rome 2 base game mechanic. Regen is binary at the stack level, not by unit.

Gaunts Ghosts rules question

If you use Lord Solar to redeploy them into reserves, are they able to pseudo deep strike T1?

Why or why not? What’s the rules interaction that makes this possible or not?
