Meanwhile, in projecting what a new Lakers front office could eventually look like, multiple sources around the league suggested to ESPN that the recently retired Chris Paul could have a role.

Paul and Iger became close while the point guard played for the Clippers and Iger was a season-ticket holder.

Their relationship has only strengthened over the years, sources said, with Iger hosting a book launch event at his house in 2023 for Paul's memoir, "Sixty-One," and Paul visiting Iger at his Disney office in Burbank, California, in March to support his friend when he cleared out his belongings to close out a 52-year run with the company.

[Fischer] The Cleveland Cavaliers may wind up backing out of sign-and-trade talks for Jonathan Kuminga and Peyton Watson as James Harden and his camp grow impatient awaiting his contract.

Where ya from; how did you get here?

Dog Days of summer….

Interacting with a Lakers fan on this sub who has been a fan longer than I have been alive (and I am 62!) got me thinking/reminiscing….

Questions/answers…
How long you been an nba fan and what was the first team and player you rooted for?
I was a Bullets fan starting in 77/78 and Booby Dandridge and Wes Unseld were my favs.

Have you ever been a fan of another team besides Lakers?
With no natural ‘home team’ I have been an NBA vagabond…
Bullets, Sonics, TWolves, Grizzlies and now Lakers (DK brought me in).

Favorite Player ever….
God forgive me, lol, Grant Williams. Used to be Dale Ellis but I found out too much about him, unfortunately

Favorite Laker ever..,
Magic Johnson was just incredible.

Player than surprised you the most?
Never thought Charles Barkley would have an NBA career.

Player you thought was going to be great that totally flamed out?
I thought Stephon Marburg was gonna TEAR the NBA up. Visions of Twolves dominance danced in my head, lol.

Are you hopeful for this Lakers team?

Yes, sum can be greater than its parts!

If anyone wants to share on these topics feel free.

Being negative about a player we have not acquired yet is a self-defeating choice, imho….with some caveats, of course.

If we do end up acquiring Kuminga some of you all are going to be so invested in being “right!” that human nature is going to lead you to actively (or passive-aggressively lol) HOPE that he fails, that the Lakers flounder BECAUSE of him, etc and etc.

Pretty sucky position to be in as a fan unless you just REALLY enjoy being miserable and/or angry (lol, that actually might be SOME of you).

Caveat is being negative about players who have committed heinous acts or play the game so recklessly that they are a danger to other players (Dort factor).

Imho, of course

[Price] "It would take something real for the Lakers to want to trade Bronny... they developed him, they’re a fan of him, and he has a lot of supporters in the building."
