Do you ever get just a little envious when you see someone else's Brompton?

Not if you see a T line and you're riding a humble C line, just the paint.

I'm totally happy with my orange/black colour scheme, but the moment I see another bike 9 times out of 10 I just think that looks so good...

Years ago, when I was living in Glasgow, I briefly had a Mitsubishi 3000GT (the fancy one, 4 wheel drive, 4 wheel steering, active aero), as a company car. It used to belong to one of the directors, but he left, and since it was the only spare vehicle available, it got handed down to me. The former director was a bit of an enthusiast and had modded it. It was seriously fast.

I had to drive up to Aberdeen one day. It was one of those rare late-summer Scottish days—the leaves were just starting to turn, the sky was a cloudless blue, and most importantly, the roads were almost completely empty.

​There's a stretch of road on the A90 that is particularly enjoyable: excellent tarmac, rolling hills, and wide, sweeping turns. I was thoroughly enjoying myself. I wasn't pushing the car to its limits; I was just taking advantage of the empty road and enjoying how it drove, when I spotted blue lights in the distance behind me.

I glanced down at the dash. "115”.

​For a split second, the intrusive thought crossed my mind that I could probably lose them. I quickly decided against it, slowed right down, and looked for a safe place to pull over.

​A minute later, the car shot past me, braking hard, blue lights flashing, racing to catch a car that was no longer fleeing. The police car slowed down until it was alongside me, and the passenger officer rolled down his window, pointing toward an approaching slip road.

​I drove up the slip road, stopped, and got out. I was promptly invited to sit in the back of the police car.

​There, highly visible on the dashboard, was the speed detector output. It was displaying 99 in big, bright red LED numbers.

​The questioning began:

​Officer: "Name?"

Me: [Gave name]

Officer: "License?"

Me: "Sorry, don't have it on me."

Officer: "Insurance?"

Me: "Nope."

Officer: "Address?"

Me: [Gave address]

Officer: "Is this your car, sir?"

Me: "Not really, no."

Officer: "Why were you speeding?"

Me: "To be honest, I was just enjoying the drive and the scenery, didn't appreciate just how was I was going.

​At that point, the conversation shifted to the car. 3000GTs were far from common. They wanted to know what it was and why I was driving it. I explained it was the only spare company car and nobody else wanted it.

​Then, the tone shifted back to business.

​Officer: "I'm sure you understand why we stopped you."

​My eyes were glued to the big red 99 on the dash.

​Me: "Well... I was going a bit fast."

​Officer: "We are currently conducting a speed awareness campaign on this stretch of road. Any vehicles caught traveling at over 100 miles per hour will receive a court summons, and if convicted, will receive six points on their license. Which may, of course, lead to a ban."

​I looked at the big red 99 again

​Officer: "As it is, I'm advising you to watch your speed in the future. And maybe consider asking your company for a different car."

How much are they paying you?

If a recruiter uses an AI agent to interview candidates, is it OK for me to send my AI agent to do the interview on my behalf?

As the title says.

I'm having problems streaming anything on iPlayer, it pauses and displays the Frequent Buffering notice every 2-3 minutes.

Doesn't happen on any other streaming service.

Doesn't happen if I watch iPlayer on my laptop or phone on the same network.

Roku s/w is up-to-date.

Any ideas anyone?

I've bent the front rim on my hub motor Electric C Line, the Brompton web site doesn't make it easy to work out which replacement rim I need, can anyone point me in the right direction. - Thanks
