heading to 2nd interview on a post that was over a month old

I dont know who needs to hear this, but its real.

I have been hyper focused on posts that are less than a week old and hitting one that is only a few hours old is like leveling up!

about 3 weeks ago, as I was fine tuning searches my date filter was disabled and a post popped up that was over a month old. The role sounded real good, I applied and almost exactly a week later I got the first contact, we scheduled first interview, then I figured I got ghosted with a full week of silence, but today they reached out to confirm that the next interview was going to be scheduled this week.

#pray4me

long story short, old stuff can still be good!!

IPG/OMC - IT Check in - how many got the cryptic invite

seems sudden after the shutdown of certain services over the weekend, but also tracks well with the overall OMC future strategy- so how many of you got the invite for the call that starts in 40 minutes?

PDI - lost to inactivity ( not true )

As others have mentioned here, for some reason ServiceNow started pulling back in some PDIs out there AND its no longer just due to inactivity.

I received the first notice about just over a week ago telling me it was coming, to back up what I needed and that I could request a new one at a later time. I received two more notices with the last one coming in yesterday with the same language.
Today, I got the final confirmation email stating it was gone and due to inactivity.

I never went more than 3 days without using it since our team started to get layoffs in November of 25.
My PDI was precious to me as I have been attempting to transition from BMC Helix to a ServiceNow role.
I learned a ton, created multiple POCs in hopes to show during interviews.
It was there for me to study and practice for my CSA, CAD and I was aiming to go in to HRSD next so I also recently loaded all the HR demo data on it.

I also started using Claude Code and the ServiceNow SDK to blow my hair back and watch it just go and create based on my chats.

just needed to rant.....
I do hope that when they are done with this clean up, that I get to start another one!

Mid July - but thinking bout winter tires/wheels

Hoping someone can give me a boost with some info here,
Been looking at getting some dedicated wheels with snow tires for Vermont winter season coming. I'm all over the place as I learn to worry not only about offset and bolt pattern but also ability to support the weight of the Model Y.
The Tesla aftermarket shops all seem to just have really nice rims that come in over $2k and I only care about getting some winter beaters or steelies.

It all leaves me thinking that maybe its easier to just swap tires on the existing rims.

I cant be the only one going through this, what are y'all doing out there?

EDIT;
did just find these steelies

Uhaul 5x8 - 1,896 miles TX to VT

Notes here for future me;

The Uhaul 4x8 is often reviewed and favored out in youtube land but the 5x8 is not a bad option at all.

official stats;

  • 1,896 miles
  • Average 485.8 Wh/mi
  • used 921.1 kWh
  • drive time, 1 day and 15 hours

Get a 2"OR 2.25" drop hitch and insert it upside down to get proper lift to level the trailer.

I decided to only use Tesla Superchargers for the whole trip.
Coming out of Texas and the first half of Arkansas was a nail bitter due to limited superchargers in the path. I was working with a calculated limit of 140 miles at ~60mph and had two stretches over 130 miles so I dropped my speed to 55mph, charged to 100% before tackling them and arrived at both between 5%-10%

Kentucky was surprisingly the most consumption with rolling hills and that day averaged 650+ Wh/mi

The Model Y is more than capable of pulling, the regenerative breaking is super powerful to the point that I barely used the brakes at all for the whole trip. The consumption suffers at an exponential rate above 55mph as you are basically pulling a parachute, -but you can still scream up to 75mph with ease when merging on the highway.

EDIT;
I forgot to add vital info!
There is very little wiggle room to reach the ears when attaching the trailer wires/chains.
I used some simple 5k pound rated caribeners purchased at the Tractor Supply. They offer just enough of an extension to make it easy to hook and unhook as needed. Get the ones that look like triangles, otherwise they wont clear the entry.

Even if you arrive at a trailer friendly charger, there seems to always be at least one a-hole that takes the trailer spot. I think maybe cause they are afraid to back up in to the normal spots. I lost count of how many stops we did, but I feel it was about 50% of the stops, I had to unhook.

You also need a trailer lift cause a loaded trailer is not something you can just muscle around.
I went with the wheel version, but if I could go back in time I would get a lift without the wheel.
You will need wheel blocks on the trailer for safety when unhooking.

The rear camera is perfectly aligned to see the ball hitch when reversing so it only takes a few to get the whole process well dialed in.

Anyone in NYC at the event for Control Center today?

I'm the edge of my seat to learn more about it and struggling to convince my management to let me get a seat at the table, -BUT either way, I feel is a powerful product and want to learn more. Regardless if I can use that knowledge with my current employer or a new one.

Looking for any tips, guidance on how to learn more as I dont see anything in the ServiceNow Uni.

Tesla rear seat Pet Liner and Large dogs

Just to share the experience for those with dogs wondering about the Pet Liner.
Without a doubt there are less expensive versions of it, but I went for it with the hopes the fit would be better. When I ordered I did not even realize it came with the door panels and those are the deal makers!

There is still a need to address the footwell and for now I'm just using some outdoor cushions purchased at the local walmart. It seems like a disaster waiting to happen with no support there.

Also there is plenty of room in the back for large dogs.
AND
it has mesh opening for the rear air vents!

EDIT;
this is the Tesla "Pet Liner" available in the Tesla store.

Anyone here do the MPP Lift in Texas or NorthEast?

getting ready to relocate to NorthEast in an area where I will want the extra clearance for gravel roads and occasional heavy snow.

Looking to see if anyone in Texas or in the NorthEast has done this lift.
Plenty of detailed videos on youtube, but not something I want to take on my own, hoping to find a shop that at least has experience doing it so they dont learn with my car.
